You only posted a day ago, people still need to download the project and play with it a little before providing meaningful comment. I know I've downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Relax dude. We can't all just drop everything to test the latest forum project. Be patient, people will get there.

Wow thats a real boost, thanx.
Yeah theres a few small bugs. but nothing thats makes it unplayable..
It does require alot of cpu power due GM's bad support for dll's. i hope they fix that in GM8.
If not i'll have to learn more C++ to wrap the functions of the engine this might give a massive boost in cpu calculation.
futher it's DX8.1 so it can do almost anything shader wize that you may have seen in HL2 or fear..
The bumpmaping method used is Paralax-bump mapping.. i like it due to it's ease of use you only need
height maps. the UV's are fetch from the model..
I'm not too good when it comes to modeling but i hope to find some one that can help me soon.
I live at home and kinda havent been able to find a job, since i only have N3 electronics and pic micro chip programing skills... It's so hard to feed your self these days in SA.
Well i hope you all enjoy this beta of recall. If you get speeds below 30-fps please post your systems stats here.. it will help me alot.
The system i used to build this was a:
Intel core 2 duo @4400Mhz
2GB ram
GeForce 8600 256MB

Whoops, sorry, I forgot to give my initial feedback >_< I have been surprisingly busy for an unemployed person :P
Yes, this is quite impressive visually. I had no issues with it running on my laptop (erm, i forget its specs, but it is a Dual core CPU and has a decent graphics card and RAM). As I understand it, you are working more on the 'engine' side of things, getting a decent enough functionality out of Game Maker which is primarily used for rapid prototyping. I am impressed with GM's support of this level of visual quality to be honest.
Overall, it is a good start. Reminded me a bit of the FPS' of the olden days
Did that help you? Shall I give another play through and let you know more info?

Has a spooky, yet familiar, "Doom"y feel. What 3D engine are you using? Are your levels built in GM or some other tool? What made you go with GM?
The games a little dark for me (visually) and the opening dialog is indistinct, I just know that something or I'll die. The interaction with the setup menu is novel, but I'd prefer a normal screen if possible until I can get my settings just right.
Also, what format do you need your models in?

I'm quite keen to try this, I had a lot of fun with U3D a while ago.
Unfortunately 20mb is a bit steep for my crappy res internet.

All levels and models are made in 3d max and exported to .3DS. The engine is made in C++ and labeled U3D, i used GM due to it's rapid prototyping.
Did u guys unlock the other 4 weapons?
