This is my first competition game, so I hope for some constructive criticism to help me improve my game.
Story:
An ancient mummy wakes up to find delinquint kids making fun of him. Being an obnoxious Egyptian, he decides to exact his revenge.
Gameplay: As a mummy you can't physically harm the kids, so using your skills in sorcery, you create magic attacks to do the job.
Update
This will be my last update before the deadline, so enjoy...

Psst, Aval4nche, the game is meant to be intuitive - ie. you are not meant to tell us the controls and rather teach them to us in the game...
Unless the tutorial is still coming :D
That being said, I will take a look when I get home (company might not appreciate me playing games at work)

and, the link is to the index of the filecloset, not the actual file itself :) i would rather link it to the game file not the index.
I will test later at home as well.

It's a nice little game, Aval4nche, especially for a first entry. ^_^
In particular, I find the driving-based semi-puzzle gameplay to be reasonably fun, and I like the humour in the depictions of the interlopers. ^_^
The only problem that I see with the gameplay concept at the moment is that after overcoming each obstacle one starts the process from the beginning. At the moment, with fairly short levels, it isn't really a nuisance, but I think that it might become one if the levels were to increase in length sufficiently.
As to your conveyance of the controls, what you do seems to work fairly well, although it's a pity that you're not conveying the information within the game itself. Even if you weren't to convey the controls through in-game events, you might, for example, have successive hieroglyph-like depictions of the controls through the course of the first level, as each obstacle is encountered or passed and new obstacles appear that call for new approaches.
[edit]
Are there supposed to be levels after the third (I think that it was)? On my end the game ends on completing that level, but I notice that an error message is reported in a text file, reading:
FATAL ERROR in
action number 1
of Alarm Event for alarm 0
for object L1 contr:
Moving to next room after the last room.
Of course, it may simply be that you intend to create more levels, and have the code in place for moving to the next level, but have not yet added in said levels.
Finally, it might be a pleasant convenience to be able to cast a new spell at any point, cancelling the current spell, if any. This would allow one to scout ahead with an arbitrary spell, or replace a mistakenly-selected spell, without purposefully crashing the current spell into a wall.

I'm stuck on the first level... lol -_-* (but I see my error now)
I am impressed Avalanche :) Its a lot better than my first competition entry...well my game entry. I love the graphics :D
I intentionally didn't read your explanation of your controls and I was pleasantly surprised at the ability to try different things. My only gripe is my need for learning by example rather than too much trial and error.
But I like the idea :D Well Done

Thanks for the input guys. I plan to have quite a few short levels and I'll include a nice tutorial.

Hurray :D
Did you draw those images yourself?
They are really good (a lot better than my blobs :D)

Yeah thanks. I use paint because it's so quick and easy. Coral draw rocks for textures too.

Wow :) I love it, Aval4nche - the tutorial helped a lot, thanks.
I don't have any thing for you to fix, its fine just the way it is in my opinion.
Good luck on the competition

The tutorial is quite amusing - the baby mummy in particular, and the intro is a good addition - well done.
Thank you for allowing players to cancel spells.
Overall, a fun and amusing little game. Good work, and good luck. ^_^
The only problem that I noticed is that I found that covering the same paths multiples times can get a little repetitive - it might make for better level design if you were to more often have accomplishments open up new paths that start fairly early on.
Your link is incorrect, by the way - you seem to just be linking to the filecloset itself, rather than to your game specifically.
I think that the link that you want is this one: http://www.gamedev.za.net/filecloset/download.php?id=573
If not, then I would seem to have taken the wrong version of the game. ^^;

Thanks Thaum. I'm not really familiar with Filecloset.

Not a problem. ^_^
One you've uploaded your game, go out to the main file listing, in which your file or files should now, I believe, be at or near the top. Right click on the link and copy the URL (which should end in something like "download.php?id=<some number>"), and provide us with that. ^_^
