ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND!

Yes, that's right. We hit 100 000 lifetime downloads last month, with 10 000 just last month (that's over 9000!). Well done, everyone. We're awesome!

Now, issue 27:

Deadline: Sunday 19 October

Feature

I think a special double postmortem on UQ and Spacehack would make a moste perfecte feature this month. (dislekcia/Aequitas and Chippit/Azimuth)
The above will go perfectly well together with some kind of rAge roundup of sorts. What happened, what may happen as a result of what happened, etc. (somebody anybody?)

Review

Braaiiiid :(
Multiwinia (Gazza_N)
Local reviews - It would totally be awesome to have one each of UQ and Spacehack, actually. Assuming this isn't possible, Roach Toaster (http://www.shotbeakgames.za.net/RoachToaster.zip) sounds like a great substitute. (LionsInnards)

Development

Irrlicht (Fuzzyspoon)
Blender (Chippit)
State of Mobile gaming? (Fuzzyspoon)
Another random sound article thing? (Nandrew)
Quadtrees part 2 (Herman)

Tailpiece

Game.Dev competition run-down (11-20) (Chippit)

The irrlicht and state of mobile gaming is confirmed.
The latter containing win insight from "the diorgo" himself.

Lets see what the 13th holds... Then we'll know what to write about SpaceHack. Also, it wouldn't really be a postmortem because Aeq and I don't feel like we're anywhere near done with the game...

Yeah, that may have been a poor choice of wording. I don't think we're done yet either. Still, I'd very much appreciate something.

On it like a fat kid on a cup cake. Or me on a cupcake. Whatever. Cupcakes are involved.

I'd like to do a follow up on the Quadtrees: an article dealing with the various issues that crop up with specific applications. Is this OK?

Ah, yes, I forgot that was intended to be a two-parter. I've added it to the list.

Put me down for a sound thing and *hopefully* a Flash thing too. I'm afraid my schedule is a bit tight until the 19th, so I can only promise a primary article and whatever-else-I-can-write before then.

I'd love to see a rAge after-action report, sure, but something like that would be most effective with pictures. I wasn't very trigger-happy with photos this year, was anybody more mindful than me in that regard?

Oh, look. The customary 'ohshi- what happened to all my procrastination time' reminder. :P

Thanks again for everyone who got there things in already. This month may be a little tight, so that helps.

Should have a good two Flash articles for you by the end of today.

And, erm, mebbe the sound. Flash was easier to write about :/

Right, it looks like things are going to be hectically busy for me this coming week, so I've decided to shunt the deadline over by one week to accommodate for myself and one or two other writers who are also having problems. New deadline is Sunday, 26 October. It was going to be a bit late anyway, so I might as well transfer the extra time over to the writers.

Oh man, that relieves me.

You have no idea what strain it would have put on me to finish those articles today.

Introversion just mailed me asking when the Multiwinia review is coming... Should've expected it considering we got free keys. But it felt like overkill considering we did a preview and an interview. If I wasn't in the middle of exams, I would've done it. Anyone played Multiwinia and want to review it?

Chippit

That review was done ages ago, will be in the next issue, probably 4 pages. Due in two weeks, because our schedule's a bit skew this month.
