Okay, upon browsing TIG forums, I found some nifty Mushroom sprites. So I decided to make this.

Readme included in zip file as well as in-game help(F1)

Please tell me what you guys think, I definitely want to expand on this!

UPDATE 17/01/2010

Okay, so I fixed the bug where the mushroom gets stuck in walls, added a second mushroom, some health and two different super weapons. Note that at this stage the health and super-weapons only spawn once a round, I'll fix it in the next version as I'm out of time for now.

Well, it looks like it could be a very fun game. You'll just need to make bigger environments and maybe add a little 'something' to make it stand out from the other side scrolling shooters out there. But all in all, I'll keep my eye on it as it looks very cool.

The only bug I found was that when jumping towards the edge of the screen and holding the directional button made me get 'stuck' in mid air. Releasing the button lets me drop, though.

Hehe, not too sure what to suggest. Magic, teleportation portals, RPG elements, just something a bit extra to set it apart from other games. I'm not too good with this kind of ideas, though.

Glad to see that you're using the TIGSource comp resources! Just bear in mind that if you continue to work on this game, it's my understanding that crediting the original artist is, well, the right thing to do. :P Throw a mention into your readme, that stuff counts.

More significantly, you're going to need to present us with obstacles before we can comment on the game's design. As soon as your proto has (1) a challenge to navigate and (2) a demonstration of the game's "core thingy stuff", you'll find yourself receiving more meaningful feedback and precise suggestions. ;)

Thanx for the comments guys. I'll be working on it tonight, adding a red mushroom to the mix as well as some health. Im also going to address the collision issue.

EDIT: I seem to have forgotten to thank the person at TIG for the graphics, the link to his thread will be in the next readme, until then here (http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=9024.0) it is. :)
