Just a quick thread to find out if anyone is following the GM in Pictures series that I'm doing in NAG at the moment. I try to make the images as self-explanatory as possible, but I could really do with some feedback on if things make sense or not...
Each month I also include a funky technique or smart way of doing something, to try and get people thinking the right way about GM.
So, does anyone have their own expanded TRON or Pong to show off? ;)

I haven't read through it yet, but when I was flipping through the mag last night, I saw the article and was totally put off. Tons of white space, only a couple lines of text - blegh. But, like I said, I haven't read it yet, and probably wouldn't have at all if you hadn't made the request, but I'll give it a good read later and post my thoughts. Don't mean to sound nasty, but that's just my natural first reaction.

White space as in pictures or sheer emptyness?

I think the idea is great. Learning something by doing it is pretty much the most effective method. I haven't tried out any of the outlined games, to be honest, but I really think it can help newbies get up and running if they're willing to try it.

Personally, I like it. Though, you could perhaps use arrows to indicate which picture succeeds which in the sequence. Also, ask the layout guy/girl to spice it up with some graphics! ;)

Sheer emptiness. The white screens aren't a problem themselves, but they go together poorly with the open spaces - while I'm certainly no professional, it's just bugs me. I second Ruandre's suggestion to spice things up a bit. Ornamental bits and pieces will do a lot to make the article more attractive (and more likely to pull in readers who wouldn't normally read the GM section (which I assume you're kinda going for)).
