Howzit guys
I tried devving about two years ago and gave up and now I'm back working on my "first" game.
The game is a 1945 clone with different sprites and AI (I didn't even look at the tutorial, although I used some of the background images).
Its still in the ALPHA stages and I really would like feedback because I'm going to user requested content in order to make the game for the end user:).

1) something off with the controls, cant put my finger on it
2) nice touch with the loading bar
3) the islands look odd and i figured out why, the background isn't moving
4) enemies seem kinda dumb but its still early
but so far so good

Thanks.
I've sorted the scrolling background issue and I'm currently tuning the controls.
I'm going to improve the AI in ALPHA 4 once I've got the shop working and some boss levels.

Nice for a first game.
I like the way the plane continues flying in the last direction pressed. My only suggestion at this stage is that you add diagonal movement and maybe some new weapons.

'Tis cool, Chuluka. ^_^
Along with scrolling, I suggest animating the water below, just slightly, to give the impression of it being in motion (be careful, however, to not let its motion overwhelm the action above it). Perhaps even add animations of surf around the edges if the islands.
Other than that, I have one suggestion: assign the player's ammunition a cost (1c, perhaps). This could provide an added challenge for skilled players, placing emphasis on accuracy over sprays of bullets. Again, a caveat: Be careful that less-skilled players are likely to still gain enough money to outfit themselves reasonably (if not necessarily with the best equipment) at your stores.

What Thaum said.
Also, I think regarding the water graphics, just add the surf animation around islands and that should be good enough. That's what most games of the good old days did to simulate movement. ;) Animating the open water itself will most likely end up being a no-no.

I haven't managed to work on it for the last two days since I've been with my dad looking at buying a BMW M3, 3.35, 5.50, 6.45 or an M6. I'll get something done tonight if I can stay awake (only slept for 3 hrs in the last 36hrs).

haha but sadly once I fall asleep I don't wake easily but an annoying cellphone alarm on the other side of my room usually does the trick.:)

Some good improvements - good work. ^_^
I'm glad to see the background scrolling - it does improve the impression of moving over a surface, I feel.
The inclusion of a boss helps too. Of course, it could use some explosions of its own, and a boss health bar should be a pleasant genre-appropriate addition.
Thinking of the explosions, I would recommend increasing the ones that you use at the moment - they seem to me a little small for the objects that are being detonated.
I noted an oddity in the firing mechanism for the player aircraft: when first firing, the aircraft seems to fire from only its right wing. If the fire button is pressed repeatedly at this time, it continues to do so, seeming to only start firing from both wings after one once waits a short period between firings.
Finally, the menu seems a little unresponsive to me, not always reacting to mouse clicks. I don't yet know under what conditions it does react, I'm afraid...
All in all, it's coming along nicely, I think. ^_^

Oh dear - I'm sorry to hear it. ^^;
I do hope that you manage to get it sorted out soon - good luck!
If I may ask, what is the problem? I'm afraid that I failed to interpret your previous comment on the nature of the trouble. ^^;

Hmm... what can I say?
- Don't use title case for that Options Menu message.
- The game feels a bit slow. Personally, I'd like the plane and the bullets to go a bit faster, but that's really a just my personal preference.
- I'd like to be able to shoot by holding down the spacebar, but, again, that's just personal preference. Although... perhaps you could put a gun in the shop that allowed that.
Other than that, it was quite alright. Much better than your last 1945 clone... hehe... don't worry, I won't put a link here.
Oh yes, and it's good Internet etiquette to ZIP your EXEs.

@Thaumaturge
Its lagging coz of a dead heatrsink on mobo and I need a new mobo

Aah, fair enough - I'm sorry to hear it.
Instead of a new motherboard, however, surely you could simply replace the heatsink?
Either way, good luck - I hope that the problem is resolved soon. ^_^

I got my PC fixed after it not being able to boot but now my CPU is running at 96 degrees Celcius and lags like **** again (even on old games like Dungeon Siege 2) so I don't expect to get back to work for another month or so.
Sorry guys

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your data, but glad to hear that you at least have your PC in working order again, and a new project in the works.
Good luck with the new project. ^_^
