From the readme:
GraveRob
-- CONTROLS --
-Cursor keys move
-CTRL + UP unburrows
-CTRL + DOWN burrows
-Hold Z while burrowed and facing a human to charge a sneak attack - release when a red indicator shows!
-Tap Z while standing to attack.
-- ENEMIES --
*Robbers:
They will dig at your grave for treasures and leave when they have their fill.
A sneak attack on a robber carrying treasure will return some stolen treasure.
A grave collapses when all its treasure is plundered!
They defend themselves if you act aggressively, but are cowardly.
*Knights:
Some robbers told them about you.
Knights are here to beat you up. Best be stealthy!
Knights always fight to the death!
*Deacons:
Knights told these old fogies about you.
Deacons will try to drop a holy icon in your graveyard, and this will banish you underground.
Best to use the direct approach!
Deacons don't fight, but they are not cowards.
-- GOAL --
Chase robbers off, defeat knights and prevent deacons from dropping their icons!
You lose if robbers make all three graves collapse.
You'll face 11 waves of determined robbers, noble knights and holy deacons - can you make it?

Off topic, is it just me or does my avatar look screwed to anyone else?

Looks fine to me. But i am using my phone, so its a little scaled down.
I think this is gonna be a cool game. Especially if the zombie is called rob!

What what whaaaaaat? DoP entering a comp? I must have truly picked an awesome topic ;)
And I like the sound of the game. Could be really cool, you going to do the artwork in your customary style?

Thanks Cloud - cleared my cache and now my avatar looks fine again. Yes, Rob the Zombie is in town and will eat your brains if you're not careful, booya!
Ha! D, the topics have all been kickass, it just took me this long to unlazify and run out of excuses ;) I'd ideally love to do all the spritework and some music too, only if time is on my side like it is with the Rollin Stones.

Ooh, I really like this. I really look forward to seeing the final product! ^_^
Hmm... A zombie named Rob... Why does that sound familiar...? ;)

Awesome! The bags & black rings around my eyes and reduced office working capacity was TOTALLY worth it! :D
@Skink: I used tea. Then coffee. Then a tea/coffee/petrol cocktail. My liver now wants to kill me.
*bump* Original post updated with official comp game link.

Oopses worth mentioning:
Didn't have time to implement proper timing: if you use a CRT monitor with refresh higher than 60hz, it'll run too fast. Should work fine on most LCDs. Sorry.
Graphics and animations hacked in at the lat minute. Some animations are missing. Sorry x 2.

How did I miss playing this? ^^;
It's a cool little game, DukeOFprunes - I rather like some of the mechanics, such as the charged burrowing attack, and the recovery via "ghost mode" - it works well as an alternative to giving the player a "game over". ^_^
In some ways it's pleasantly reminiscent of Killer Worm and Death Worm. ^_^
I did notice one oddity: It seems that the knights can kill Rob while he's underground and charging an attack on them. o_0

Yay feedback!
Being visible while charging is done on purpose, it's far too easy otherwise but they still cannot see you if you are behind them, so be sneaky!
Note: when they lose sight of you, they "search", turning around every few seconds. If you were behind them and charging when they do, it's clobberin' time! Cheers Thaum.

I got up to wave 5 before getting completely slaughtered. :P
It's a fun little game with a great premise. I especially liked going all sandworm on the knights. :D
I only wish that Rob had some more potent ways to squish those pesky do-gooders. I'd love to be able to set traps or spawn more zombies to cover my back while taking out the more difficult foes. As it stands things get pretty overwhelming at times, although the ability to respawn helps a lot. ;)

Aah, fair enough - a reasonable explanation and good advice, thank you. ^_^
I'd love to be able to set traps
I would suggest making a new power available as an extension of Rob's ability to burrow: undermining areas so that they collapse when walked on (by either Rob or one of the living). They might kill the living and switch Rob into underground mode (albeit without limiting him to it).
Come to think of it, perhaps you could allow players to select a set of abilities, either wholesale at the beginning or in a mini-RPG-like style, giving them the selection of a new ability every x levels...
