Here we are, I finally have an entry. You can blame Fallout for the lateness.

This game is about sky diving, dodging obstacles and landing safely.

Gameplay: For your little dude to land safely, he must open his chute. To do this he must grab points as he goes through clouds. Once he has enough points, the chute will open and he can land safely. But, he is less maneuverable and dodging obstacles is a lot harder.

Controls: The control scheme is extremely simple, because on a mobile phone, too many buttons suck!

I can't upload my game, because some ******* hacked filecloset. Anywhere else I can upload my game?

Edit: Here is Sky DIEver V.1 - http://www.quickshare.co.za/files/exmrjrp5/Sky_DIEver.exe.html

Right, here is the latest version. Sky DIEver v.2 -http://www.quickshare.co.za/files/fuxx6tg3/Sky_DIEver_v2.exe.html

I quite like this idea, its nice and simple to keep with the likes of all other mobile games. When you've hosted it somewhere I would quite like to try this :)

Thanks Edg3, You're a legend. I've posted the link up at the top. I still want to fix a couple things, like my pause menu (Using a mouse in a cellphone game isn't right). Any thoughts, improvements?

Ok, heres what I think:

- You shouldnt use a cursor on the main menu like a mouse, I suggest using set positions for the hand to cycle through if you want to use a cursor, like make it hover over each button which will be much more userfriendly I think.
- You should probably add an indication of score (like countdown) so you know how many clouds you have to go through left.
- Maybe you could have a time limit so that you cant just keep on missing clouds, etc. Like limit the level's time to 30 seconds which then causes you to crash into the ground without a parachute or something.

Thanks for the suggestions. I especially the score countdown thing. I'll get started on incorporating some of these things into the game.

Heya,

Tried it out, commentary is much the same as Edg3's, mainly with the countdown (so that player can tactically decide when to get the 'chute open and how much time they have left -- I've noticed that the levels aren't randomised, so interesting touch).

This works out quite well in that it's a little more complex than one would initially think it -- I found myself keeping track of the original "LZ" designation, as well as trying to remember cloud formations and positions so that I could adjust my flight path in subsequent drops.

Thanks, that was exactly what I wanted to do.

Ok, I had a quick play through

Gameplay is good, very simple to play and understand.
Concept is solid and a nice idea that takes full advantage of the keypad

Some suggestions:

- Instead of the chute opening automatically, perhaps give the player the choice of when to open the chute
(Just add an event for say when the user presses Shift it deploys the parachute - and a line of text next to the score saying 'PARACHUTE READY')
If you implement this, you might need some form of warning as to when the ground is coming - maybe markers on the side of the screen saying '100ft' '75ft' etc.

You totally need a sound for when your player dies, like an 'URRRGhhh' or something :p - check the resources thread, there are a lot of sites with free sounds.

Thats was fun. It really suits the pick up and play nature of a cellphone.

Some feedback:
Once the parachute opens it gets a bit slow and boring as you can't earn any more points and you have no idea how far away the ground is. Markers like Kensei suggested would be great.
Also the resolution is a bit strange, being intended for a cellphone a more portraity resolution like 240x360 would mean it's more like a cellphone screen and you can see further down at what's coming.
Otherwise a fun, well suited concept :)
