Thought I'd let you guys know bout a contract job posted at 3D character modeller/animator (http://www.gamedevsa.com/job/view/id/6)
3D game character modeller/animator(s) wanted for 2.5D console project.
What you'll need to do:
* Model anime-esque characters from existing concept art, from which a final version must be exported with a limited polygon budget and a normal map.
* Create materials/textures for the characters.
* Rig the characters for skeletal and limited facial animation.
* Animate the characters with a variety of exaggerated martial arts.
Tools you'll need to possess and have experience with:
* Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya or Softimage - your preference.
* Use of MotionBuilder and other tools may also be possible as long as any work can be imported back into Max/Maya/Softimage.
* Your choice of image compositing software.
What we would like to see:
* Shots/footage of 3D characters you've done. Characters made for games eg. Unreal, Crysis etc. preferred.
* Any animations of characters performing martial arts a huge bonus!
Payment will be on a per-asset basis.
Cape Town based artists preferred but working remotely can be arranged.
If you're a character modeller and animator but don't have experience making characters for games, we'd still be interested in hearing from you as long as you can work on a resource budget.
If you're interested, please send me a private message that includes a link to your portfolio.
