My first global game jam experience and first time building a board game with a team. Worked together with 2 guys from Tasty Poison, Steve and Gabe, and another guy, Alex. Our final concept is essentially a board game where the board is made out of cards. Each card represents a tile you can move your token to and the board is shaped in a square loop (ie: you go round and round and round and round the board - there's no end point, really). Each corner of the board is a "home base" for one of the tokens.
In the process of playing the game, players pick up "mayhem" cards which are placed over the board tiles. Landing on these leads to all sorts of mayhem, such as loosing all your play cards or reducing future rolls of the dice by one, and probably death. Players get the chance to pick up play cards from the play deck which might save them from said death or nudge other players closer to their's. The aim of the game is to outlive all other players! Be the last to meet your maker.
The rules, board, and most of the deck are available from the GGJ site (http://www.globalgamejam.org/2011/meet-your-maker) though Steve is still currently hacking out the final pretty versions of the mayhem deck. Of course, the entire deck is listed in the rules so you could always print some extra blanks and go wild with your own pictures :) I will update this thread when I get the final versions from Steve.
