Well, its time to start dusting off our old competition 18 entry and giving it some glory. This shall be our game. I will be working with ShadowMaster as we pretty much made the game together.

Pea Adventures todo list
- Fix the level winning system
- Update the spawning system to have more room for gameplay involving enemies
- Finish the level editor
- Put in the new random level generation system
- A tutorial
- Fix up some of the graphics (eg flattened pea sprites)

Art todo list:
- fix the flattened peas
- create backgrounds
- make random changes to the blocks (ie cracks etc) to break monotony

Stage 1 - Represent
The first step in my plan is to make the Pea Adventures information more available, so considering all my options I decided that I needed to be in the most popular places (although the GGE link is from when I entered comp 18), and aside from being in those places, using tinyurl.com I make it a lot easier for someone to spread the links from the top of their head:

Stage 2 - Press releases
Im planning on writing up press releases, but first making a tutorial video so people can learn to play, as well as see what exactly happens in the game, to be punted out there along with my press releases.

Stage X
This technically isnt a stage, but if you would like me to
- post on my blog about your game
- link to your game
- [insert arb method of representation here, within reason of course]
PM me and I will do so, I will put links up on the net and in my readme.html file that Im going to use, but not in the game itself for the reason that spamming links from within a game doesnt seem that productive to me.

-----------------------------------
I have one or two things after these initial steps that are listed in the marketing guides that will be added when I get there.

Unfortunately my file hosting is falling to pieces (mysql problems which are plaguing my host) but thats not too much of an issue as I will make a plan to host the game somewhere that it can be tracked.

The update I promised this morning is here.

Excellent first post! It has the sort of focus that's ideal for this comp: a big fat section concerning marketing plans which can be discussed.

Lovely idea with the link offering. I'll be sure to avail myself of the opportunity to get posted on your blog and other places, and will offer the same from my end when people's games are ready to bear fruit. :)

Nice coverage of what you're up to! Any plans to track effectiveness for those measures?

I want to look at using google anaytics, but thats tomorrow's battle ;)

EDIT: I set up google analytics, didnt realise it would be that easy. Its running on the blog, unfortunately though I cant quite put that on the facebook page or on the twitter, but its a start.

Ive written a new blog post: What the challenges facing the dev of pea adventures was (http://peaadv.blogspot.com/2009/09/what-challenges-were-when-creating-game.html)

And am also in contact with a magazine or two that are interested in what I have to say, but I have yet to make contact with my local newspapers.

Just played it now, great game, a good idea:( i know its a beta and all) but

tell the player what score/ pea kills etc he/ she needs to progress to the next level.

add some more colourful pea like music ( the sounds are pretty cute, add some more fantastic sound affects)

bug: once the view credit screen is selected and the credits roll, you cannot exit. A players worst nightware is never ending credits.
