Up until July 31st 2010, indie developers can submit their work into the competition. Then from August 1st to the start of September, visitors to the site will have the chance to vote for their favourite games until the winners are announced on September 14th.

There's the main prize of $100,000 for the big winner (along with the chance to get your work published), then lots of smaller prizes - $5,000 for the 'Community Favourite', and $1,000 for five entries in special categories.

Sweet.

I really thought when I saw this post that there will be a wash of ideas and excitment around this, so my question is why is there none to speak of, am I missing someting?

Great Link, thanks!

We're tired, busy with family stuff, recovering from sickness and it's winter.

My reason for not entering is that the game I'm working on won't be suitable for the competition (KickyFighter).

I may enter it anyway, but just for a smidgeon of press, and that's if KickyFighter is finished by then.

Seriously, did you see the list of elements that should NOT be in the game? No wonder there are not a lot of entries.

I suppose even Battleships is not eligible.
