Awesome article! Thanks Cairnswm. I dont thoroughly agree with Moral #2 when it comes to the indie industry though.

Bwhaha, gotta love one of the comments:

As the old joke says: a priest, a hairdresser, and a programmer all spend the night in a brothel, but none of them have sex. The priest because he's celibate, the hairdresser because he's gay, and the programmer because he spends the entire night talking about how great the sex is going to be.

Tr00jg is right - I think that some of those morals mainly pertain to the commercial industry. Not that they shouldn't be heeded by Indies, of course. ;) People just don't seem to realize that the creative process is a chaotic one. As the article mentions, ideas feed off of each other and end up being greater for it.

A very nice article, otherwise. Thanks, Mr. Cairns!

Having taken a look (I think that I remember this article), I believe that the writer makes some good points.

Thank you for the link, cairnswm. ^_^

As to the matter of idea theft, I think that it is similarly unlikely amongst indies, as I suspect that you'll find that indies are probably more likely than commercial studios to be rather invested in creating their own ideas, rather than taking those of others.

Taking inspiration from such ideas is, of course, another matter. ^_^
