This coming year there will be two flavours of DBP.

Microsoft Old Spice Challenge
"Win big and smell good doing it too"
Using the freshest places on Earth as inspiration (Matterhom, Fiji, Denali and Cyprus), create a funny and entertaining Xbox 360 game.
The prize: $60 000, media attention and your game will be used as part of the Old Spice promotional campaign.

Standard Dream Build Play Challenge
Create a standout game.
The prize: $40 000, and publishing contracts for Xbox LIVE.

I think Im going to drop my progress on my Dream Build Play entry that I started on early this year to enter comp 24 and then decide what to do in Jan, who wil be entering and what do you guys think?

Well, if I get my Xbox this Christmas I'll most definitely be looking into learning XNA 3.0 -again- while entering for DBP. Even if I don't win, I think it'll be enough motivation to learn something new. :)

Yeah, we are. I know of 4 South African DPB entries so far.

I'm very keen to enter! But I would be wary of doing it alone... If anybody is looking for a team mate, I'm over here!

I think I'm going to try this. Just gather some troops from campus or something. It should be really fun...I need to brush up on my C# though, last coded in C# early last year. Does the game need to be of awesome 3D graphics? I've coded 3D in OpenGL but not DirectX so it might be a problem.

The more I play with the 2D side of XNA, the more I want to try doing my games in a flat 3D world instead. But that's just me. And no, I'm pretty sure awesome 3D graphics is not a pre-requisite.
