Here for your pleasure is (the downloadable) Sprit - Episode 1: Discovery (http://www.gamedev.za.net/filecloset/download.php?id=651)
This game has finally seen the light, and I hope I get enough interest to continue with Episode 2. :)
As always any questions and comments are appreciated.
One last thing, I made this with RPG maker XP, so please post here if you find any problems with playing the game. Thanx and enjoy :)
[edit]
If the first one isn't working, this one may: LINK (http://www.gamedev.za.net/filecloset/data/files/652/Spritep1.rar)
[UPDATE]
Thanx to Darcnyss, we solved the problem. In order to run the game you need the latest RTP, you can download it here [LINK] (http://tkool.jp/products/rpgxp/eng/rtp_download.html)
another thing to note: This is a VERY short game. See it as a kind of introduction to the rest.
In Episode 2: WARNING! DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED EPISODE 1 FIRST!
In episode 2 a lot of stuff will be explained, like the voice and who Brock, Helen and Ashton actually are and what the monster was that attacked them. It's going to be pretty interesting. So don't miss it.
UPDATE:
Here is the final version of Episode 1, this is the one you should download as I fixed the problems(except the layout)

I would truly love to try out this game, but it doesn't want me to.
I have RMXP and the RTP installed, but as soon as I start the Game.exe I hear the error sound and nothing happens.

That's odd, it works perfectly on my side. Maybe another member could check if this happens at their side as well.

Yeah man. The game opens, I see the window and the blackness inside of it, but then it just closes. Can't get it to work... Both links. (BTW the second link is a third of the size of the first, thought that was a bit strange...)

I know, and it has more files. This is my final try LINK (http://www.gamedev.za.net/filecloset/data/files/653/Spitepi1.rar)
If this doesn't work I'll have to mail tech support at RPGMXP or something. Make sure you have the RTP installed and make sure you've tried all the links. FileCloset tells me no one downloaded the second one yet.

Sorry man, the game didn't work from that link too. Does the same thing as I said above. What is this RTP you say I need installed? Maybe that's the problem?

FileCloset is lying.

RGSS-RTP, it's kinda like a Runtime Library. I'm not sure if it'll help coz Darcnyss had it installed and it did the same.

I'll run the game from the project file and get back to you.

It seems my RTP was version 101e, while your game uses 102e. I've installed the latest version now.It seems to be working just fine.
Just a reminder that for anybody trying to play the game to get the latest english RTP at http://tkool.jp/products/rpgxp/eng/rtp_download.html.
The plot idea seems pretty cool, though the first episode is very short. Your rooms are extremely bare, and could do with a bit more decorations. Also, it would be cool to be able to interact a bit with some of the other characters in the game world. Also, it took me a while to figure out where the "Great Field" was.
However, I think this is a pretty good start, and I would definitely try out episode 2. Keep it up!

Thanks, i'm glad you like it, if you don't mind I'd like to add the link to my first post.
As I said, the first episode is very short and is more of a prelude to the following episodes. The plot is going to take you on a rollercoaster ride(cheesy as it sounds), believe me.
As for the rooms being too bare, I suck at layouts... :D
I'll start working on Episode 2 tomorrow night, and I'll keep all your suggestions in mind.
[EDIT](2)
Take note that the next episode will be pretty dialogue heavy due to the fact that a whole lot of stuff will be explained, but there will be action and fighting too. I'll try and get as much action in as possible.

I eagerly await episode 2. I think I might just like the way this turns out. Also, if you'd like, I can post you some rehashed versions of your room layouts just to give you a few ideas.

Cool, I'd be happy. :)

FileCloset tells me no one downloaded the second one yet.
FileCloset is lying.
This is because of the link you're using. Direct file links on filecloset (like that one) will not track downloads. You want to use the link that looks like the following, usually available on filecloset's home page, not the one on your personal user page.

Umm... Bonezmann, the RTP is quite an important ingredient it turns out. It is needed to run RPG MAKER XP games, and it is an RPG MAKER specific runtime, and I have never played any of those games before, so yeah, I think you should put a link for it in your first post.

The link has been added in the first post, as well as by me in a later post.
