I know D says that gameplay is more important that graphics, and he is 100% right. But because the internet means any fact or theory can be refuted (just look at intelligent design) here is Grow Tower; a simple combination puzzle game that wouldn't be half as fun without the amazing visuals it bestows upon each combination.

To be honest, the reason we all say focus on gameplay is so that your time is used productively. Having an app that's very pretty but doesn't actually do anything isn't a game; and art & music resources can always be refined in the polish stage.

actually its dam awesome. took me a bit to figure out what was going on, but its rad. nice game

Ah, I played this one two or three days ago. It's always been a neat series, and really cute. Grow RPG is still the pinnacle of it all, though.

Actually, I'd say that the graphics tie in to the gameplay as well.

Often, the cute visual animations of incorrect combos give you a very valid idea of how the game would react to different positions and ideas. The graphics are a feedback mechanism that allows the player to make a more informed choice the next time around -- they provide a somewhat logical framework for an otherwise abstract series of events.

It's a very clever and well-designed game overall. I've played one other in this series (can't remember which -- had something to do with an island) and it's complicated, but rewarding.
