Firstly: (creators.xna.com main page - news)

For premium members of Creators Club – please be aware that you will not be able to access premium Creators Club content until you have accepted these Terms of Use via your console or through Xbox.com.

Secondly: (gamastura on the new xbox experience) (http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=20423)

Here is the lovely summary:
Step 1) Make a game for the 360
Step 2) Submit it to the creators.xna.com site
Step 3) Let the site people know on the XNA forums so they can look at it for you
Step 4) Wait for reviews etc
And there's a BONUS: if your game is popular enough they will list it on the NXE Community Games downloads, and voila, instant name for yourself.

I think this is a great opportunity for the likes of Dis/Aeq and Chip/Azi to get some exposure. How awesome would it be to be able to market and distribute your game on Xbox Live without extra work on your part?

They are working with submissions onto the site from 19 November (Thats right, today), so go get the dashboard update, and have fun!

UPDATE (27 Nov):
Getting paid:

The second best part of it is getting paid! We’ve opened up the “My Business (http://creators.xna.com/mybusiness.aspx)” section of your Creators profile now so you can submit all the necessary information to get paid for your hard work.

What is Peer Review:

Peer review is the approval process by which a Community Game gets onto the Xbox LIVE marketplace for sale. When creators upload a game for approval, Microsoft does not approve the game – the XNA Creators Club Community does. Community peer reviewers make sure the game doesn’t have any prohibited content, runs well enough to review, and that the game’s rating for violence, sex, and mature content actually reflects the gameplay experience.

Q: What about money - does the creator choose the price point?

Yes, the creator can choose from three different prices to charge, in Microsoft Points. You can charge 200, 400, or 800 Microsoft Points.

If your game is over 50 MB in size, you will not be able to select the 200-point option. It’s explained best in this table, which uses US$ as an example:

Microsoft Points US $ File Size Limit
200 $2.50 50 MB
400 $5.00 150 MB
800 $10.00 150 MB

Q: Let's get back to money - how much money am I going to make with my community games?

Creators will make up to 70% on every game sale. In most cases, it'll be 70%.

In certain cases, we will promote your game prominently on our properties like Xbox.com and the Xbox 360 Marketplace, and in that case, we will take an extra 10 – 30%, depending on how much traffic we're getting your game.

We're looking at ways to help creators track the amount of traffic their games are receiving, so they can make sure they're getting a good deal.

I've been checking out the community games offering, some polished looking and some not-so polished looking games up there... Although a lot of the time I can't access game content. Anyone else having that problem?

I get error 800fff a lot.

Yeah, but I'm getting that with everything on the Marketplace today. I think the Live servers are under heavy load at the moment. :P

Ah, I haven't even tried anything else on Marketplace ;)

I did get a couple of games down though, promising so far... Although it looks like we can't buy them from SA just yet. Seeing all these games up here (and some of the completely unpolished ones that are getting downloads) I'm kinda keen on getting SpaceHack up there again.

The only major problem is the $99 annual subscription fee for Creator's Club (that's just under a thousand bucks per annum at the current exchange rate). In LIVE territories you can get a free student subscription, but here we'll just have to bear with it.

They've sorted it out today and its working fine. (or so it seems) Havent downloaded Weapon of Choice yet though :) They also show screenshots of the games now, show a game cover, and then have a long description.

Under details it states whatever it supports, single player, multiplayer, resolutions, custom soundtracks and such on community games.

This is why you should have entered DBP: Free year's student membership on entering and 4 month premium membership on submission of a game before deadline ;)

Well, hindsight is an exact science. I didn't even know I was buying an X360 until less than a month ago. I love withholding important info like that from myself. ;P

EDIT: Well, hopefully MS will give the same offer for this year's DBP. My Gazzasense tells me that they won't, in order to benefit from the influx of subscriptions, but you never know... ;)

Note, however, that games can only be sold by residents of a select few countries at the moment.

Developers from which countries will be able to sell their games at launch?
Creators Club Premium members in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland and Spain will be able to sell their games. We'll be adding support for other regions later in 2009 and beyond but these are the only countries where XNA is enabled to pay their residents.

What countries do you support payouts to?
We only support payouts to the countries that creators can currently submit from.

I have a bank account in a different country - can I not get paid into that?
No, we only support payouts to countries that creators can submit from.

::grumbles:: If I had a Premium Creator's Club* membership I would offer to act as a go between you guys and the customers.

* = Not one word about the DreamBuildPlay 4 month premium membership, not a ****ing word - I am not happy that I was too slow on the uptake with regards to XNA

XNA is free

Get your hands on XNA 3.0 and Visual Studio 2008 Express -> Both are completely free :D

If you want to put them onto your xbox, yes, you need a premium membership

But, if you just want to develop games, you can create them for Windows and just use a controller to test them with - I should have something for people to play with some time this week (as in a demo :p).

I will not lie, the XNA framework is not exactly the most user friendly thing in the world (imo) - be sure you are familiar with concepts such as Object Orientation and the C#.Net framework.
If you want to make games easily and quickly, use Game Maker :D

But there are plenty of tutorials on the internet with regards to XNA, so you are not alone :p

Maybe you're thinking of something like Torque Game Builder (http://www.garagegames.com/products/torque/tgb)?
