I'm kind of blown away by the elegance of the design of this game: http://toucharcade.com/2011/03/22/forget-me-not-the-magical-child-of-pac-man-and-rogue/ (as have I been by Nyarlu Labs in the past)

What I find particularly interesting is that while I have seen a lot of attempts at stripping down the Rogue-like or bringing elements of Rogue-like to other types of games... only really this and Desktop Dungeons have felt elegant.

I wonder whether Desktop Dungeons influenced or inspired this game at all?

Also I've been trying to picture what Nandrew's Desktop Dungeons would be like in real-time ever since he first posted it... This isn't thematically, or formally, anything like Desktop Dungeons... but if it were styled to be a bit closer to Gauntlet it might be very close to such a game. Or maybe it is just me.

Heres the video if you're too lazy to follow the link :

Another reason why this interests me: In the recent prototyping competitions on this forum there were a couple entries that took retro arcade games (like Snake) and brought in new mechanics that completely changed the game. Forget-Me-Not feels a bit like that and shows that that approach can bare wonderful retro and (probably financially feasible) fruit.

I bought this game as soon as it was launched! Having absolute fun with it and the developer is responsive to bugs
