Hey everyone,

as promised, here's the demo for my cricket game. It's using a very old version of my engine but I started this game so long ago, I didn't really feel up to rewriting it :/ Anyway, here's (http://gamedev.openhazel.co.za/filecloset/data/files/178/Cricket.zip) the download. Note, there's not much functionality there yet and the game will crash once you lose all 10 wickets, but these things will be sorted out in future :)

Keys: (assuming right-handed batsman - just reverse for left)
------

Space - run

J, K, I, L - Move
A - Cut
D - Pull
W - Backward defensive
S - Forward defensive
X - Straight drive
Z - Cover drive
C - On drive
Mouse Click - Skip stats screen

also, hold in a key when playing a shot to charge your power
and press enter to adjust the field. Either select a field by clicking on the arrows or drag the fielders into place.

Cheers
Kurt

Alas, on attempting to start the game I received an error message that read "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application".

Does it perhaps require some particular system to be installed (such as .NET)?

Game works fine with me, just loads to fast though. Pretty nifty, slow it down so that i can see whats happening better

Sorry guys, have u tried the latest version? I fixed a little timing bug, so it works on my core duo now. Please give it a spin and let me know how it goes :-) and it needs .NET2 :-)

Hey everyone,

does anyone feel like doing spritesheets for me? I'm missing quite a few objects and think it would go a long way to making the game seem more *real*. Things like advertising boards, field logos, supporters, etc. Or perhaps someone would like to redo the sprites I have so far? :) Also I'm always on the lookout for suggestions...

Cheers
Kurt

Aah, that's probably the problem on my end - I'm pretty sure that I don't have .NET2 installed.
