I was just putting together something, and realized I needed screenshots of the locally produced games here on Game.Dev, but I can't find any. It's too late now, but in the future I recommend developers throw up at least a few screenshots - you never know where you might get mentioned.

People seem to only start putting up screenshots when they have their own sites for their games, there are screenshots over at retrotoast.co.za for example.
That's why I've been trying to get as many people to use the Great Games Experiment as much as possible: It's a good place to put up a splash page for your current work, no matter what it happens to look like at the moment...
So now everyone should have more motivation to get their games up on GGE! Do it!

:(
What was it for though?

The DVD.
Ive made a personal not to myself to try include screenshots of my games when I make threads about them, but maybe we can make this thread the "collections" thread (or even a new one) for screenshots of our games, then everyone can go and look in one place to see them.
As for GGE I completely forgot about it. I just like forums better :P

Hey, which reminds me, where is the showcase thread D? Getting too big I presume?

I agree

A sticky screenshots thread is a cool idea. People can then post links, or embed screenshots. In the case of embedded ones, a size limit should be required to ensure the screens don't force the post width to go out of whack. (Unless the forum prevents that automatically?)
Also if we keep it to one post per person and they just update the links and add to it it wont grow to hundreds of pages (making it easier to see who belongs to what)

The showcase thread was a bitch to maintain. That's why I wanted everyone to move over to GGE so that when we need a showcase, we can simply send people to the GameDotDev tag list. Easy.
Unfortunately people aren't keeping their GGE stuff up to date, or simply don't even have anything up on the GGE :(

To me personally, I just really want to have my most esteemed projects on GGE (that being only Roach Toaster)... So stuff like Zombie Batbasher, Protegis, Defriance, etc I don't want on there. It could give the wrong impression, if you know what I mean?

No, I don't get what you mean. I think people take GGE way too seriously... Simply put your older games up, label them as "learning experiences" and leave it at that. If it helps people establish a timeline of your improvement then that's never a bad thing...

Heh, I'm guilty of not posting screenshots - and it is something that I ought to do. Thank you for the prompt, Miktar. ^^;
As to the Great Games Experiment, I'll take a look at it at some stage in the near future, I think. Is there a particular group or location within the Great Games Experiment to which I should post my games - a Game.Dev group, for example? I seem to hazily recall some such thing...

Aah, thank you very much, Dislekcia. ^_^
I intend on joining up there once I have my web hosting sorted out - I want to get that done before I distract myself with too many other things. ^^;

Did you put in the comp 15 games? If so, I hope it was the newest version of my game, TypingTower, ie later than Oct 21 2007. The previous versions were a bit illegal, *cough cough*. I forgot to include in the license of the engine, SexyAppFramework, in the game directory.
Damn, I like anecdotes. ;)
