Stumbled across this,

https://www.dreamspark.com/

Looks like you register, and can download and use any of the software for free, provided its personal and non-commercial etc etc. Theres a nice assortment, including VS pro, and robotics stuff.

Looks fun (they have xna stuff there too).

Thoughts?

looks great, though its a pain to register, as the mail server ms side or uni side is really slow -.-. only real problem is dling some of the stuff, which is huge...

and just incase some was wondering:

XNA Creators Club 12-Month Student Trial Membership coupled with XNA Game Studio 3.0, opens up video game development to untapped creative minds, enabling students to build and play their amazing games on Xbox 360 systems. The access key below grants access to a 12-month trial membership that provides aspiring game developers the ability to develop games for their Xbox 360 without having to pay the $100 yearly membership (minimum Xbox LIVE silver membership required to deploy your games on your Xbox 360). However, this membership will not give you access to premium content or the ability to submit your games to Xbox LIVE Community Games.

You don't need Live Gold to be able to subscribe to the Creators Club and publish XNA games to your 360... If you just want to learn XNA, you don't even need a 360: It works fine on PC ;)

You don't need Gold, sure, but you'll need to make the relevant account LIVE-enabled. Which involves exactly the same registration process.

Shadow Con, the easiest way is to open a Hotmail account, and set the region to UK. Connect your Xbox to the internet, and use whatever menu option NXE has to join LIVE. Associate your Gamertag with the Hotmail account you've created, and voil?, you're on LIVE.

if anyone else from UJ is having troubles using this, go complain to the IT dept.(not academy), some n00b there thought it would be a good idea to block the emails... FAIL :(
