Yea, there is a boss!
http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/9193/boss01.png
So I unfortunately managed to break my code so badly that I had to face a hard decision, either give up, move to a new idea, or remake my current idea in Game Maker, but I am done.

It contains all the previous storyline, and 2 of the 3 minigames I planned, and Ive (hopefully) squashed all the bugs that there were.
You can download it and try it, source included as per LD rules.[/U

You can download my final submission here : http://owned.co.za/ludumdare/LD48_19_FuzzYspo0N_final.zip
Notes :
Left/a right/d up/w - platformer guy (use mouse for point and click stuff)
The rest is hopefully self explanatory.
ALOT of the base tech was written during the weekend as well, level management, game classes etc.
Feel free to mock the code, its a mess due to the rush. Now that the rush is over, i will finish cleaning it up.
This was super fun. I suggest others participate next time!
I learnt a crap load about my workflow AGAIN.

South Africans entering Lundum Dare FTW!
@FuzzySpoon. I couldn't find the boss :( Also I didn't realise that at Luma they keep their engine programmers boarded up in permanent darkness :P Also I like that the game tells me I'm awesome when I click on a bug, super cunning way to mollify the end-user. Also I wanted to knock things about in the offices, but it wouldn't let me, I don't think I'm the only one that wants to smash up some anonymous game developers' stuff.
@Edg3. The little mini games trap me, but I like that there is a bit of mystery going on, I wanted the story to be taken further. I guess you could say immortal emo NPC's locked in a dream-world of the user and named "Toes" intrigue me.
Are there more updates to come?
So, I totally want to expand the story, add more minigames and do more polish, but I want to fix up the game and use Gamelab for the continuation as the code base I have there is WAAAAAAAAAAAY better, and way mroe extensible (as in adding an NPC is a couple lines of code and the NPC follows the main story progression with its dialogue). Going to take a break from staring at code today though (and for the rest of this week and the week after that) so that I cna play and rate all the LD entries and write a lovely blog post about this insanity.

Boss was culled at the last minute to be able to finish something finishable. The idea i went for was a platformer-point-and-click-adventure combo. Where you *could* run full steam but would miss out on a lot of cool secrets and discoveries.
The boss battle was basically the publisher of the game, and when you entered his room you looked totally different, like black hair, missing tie etc. Then each time he lost a block of health, he dropped something of original you, and you defeat him to become the way you were intended to be designed, and go on to finish the level.
Obviously 48 hours wasnt enough for my design. The 6 rooms i had are all supposed to be interactice, the idea disposal dropping you out of the idea machine, each thing was meant to be trigger based and interactable in the use/look sort of point and click style. I will definately finish these 6 levels and polish them and release again.
It was really fun, though. There were actually 12 levels, all drawn up and ready to be implemented but yea :) Its not much of a game if it has no ending so i chose that over more levels. Time just got away on silly things i had to fight along the way.

Results are out! http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-19/?more=1
For anything that these results teach is the perception of players vs the developers minds. Its great to ask the developers what they expected/perceived and what the judges voted :)
For me :
I'm glad i got 9th overall for Humour, that was pretty much what i was hoping for (as the rest was missing a lot)!
The rest:
Here is a list of overall placings :
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-19/?action=top&cat=Overall&more=1
Interesting, my game is tied with 2 other games at #63 overall, out of the 242 entries? So many ties!
Edg3 is up at 101 also, congrats :)
Heh, the next LD Im going to do better >:D Congrats on 9th for humour and 63rd overall :P
