Check out this blog entry (http://www.garagegames.com/community/blogs/view/16727) for the price on the upcoming Torque 3D. It seems a bit steep (at $1000 for pro version) for indie developers if you compare with what TGE and TGEA pricing was but you also have to keep in mind that this is a much improved engine over the previous and luckily GarageGames is offering a discounted price if you per-order and even more if you already own TGEA.
Check the end of the blog for links to other blogs discussing the features of Torque 3D, and the work done by some local guys like Luma Arcade and Gerhard Botha, for the new engine.
