Although they still aren't as good as elves/gnomes when you reach Vicious.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

True, but there's a lot more experience available in vicious dungeons to begin with. If there were dungeons where there were eight mana potions on the ground instead of the usual four, gnomes would be a joke there too.

True, I guess... I don't know. I guess I just have ingrained in my memory that goblins are mediocre.

Doesn't work. Killed them all and nothing happened. Good idea though.

Ugh. Perhaps it's all magic monsters? That includes AA's of course. Unfortunately, last time I got two level 9 AA's and three level 8 dragons.

At this point I'm ready to conclude that either:

1) the level is bugged.
or
2) there's a secret to the level that is just way too obscure.
or
3) the devs are screwing with us.

Possibly 2 and 3. Wait, they took away the Agnostic's collar. Maybe it's the Paladin Gold reward. I hate not being able to beat stuff.

Taurog berserker still walks all over VHoS even with the corrosion changes. Turns out, attacks that do 0 damage don't trigger corrosion (probably for the same reason attacks that do 0 damage don't trigger might's errode effect).

Just do blahblah first. I forgot to prep a burn salve and 1 from the shops was enough to beat indom.

edit: Ya, and dragon isles is still a simple win too. And somehow I ended up with more damage at the boss on my human run than I did on my orc run. Not sure how that happened, I'll have to check the sums.

Ok, it turns out that, if you plan to hit level 9, humans are just better than orcs. Not even new orcs, old orcs..... so yeah, they completely trash the new orcs. In every scenario. Taking the tri-sword just rubs it in, taking taurog is more base damage = more rubbing it in.

And to even scrabble at humans feet orcs need to hit 600 cp, which requires buying some stuff from shops which is even harder this patch. Especially with the tri-sword money sink.

Anyway, here's my maths http://pastie.org/3832126 paste that into this http://math.chapman.edu/~jipsen/js/ and evaluate it for yourself. Have a play.
