So, Dwarf Sorcerer in Shifting Passages

Normally this a dungeon to be careful of due to its tendency to trap the player, but with both ENDISWAL and WEYTWUT in the glyph pool it was very safe. The big question today was whether you wanted to go with Mystera or the Fire Heart, both great for a Dwarven Sorcerer. As it turns out, the Fire Heart was in the shop pool so you could have your cake and eat it too. I spent my gold on the battlemage ring, though, and never did get around to picking up the heart.

In the end I had a big spike chain all lined up with refreshment, potions, a conversion to Tikki Tooki to harvest the magic-user popcorn, and of course the Fire Heart. However, this proved utterly unnecessary and I simply fireballed the bosses to death with potions and refreshment, never actually getting to my conversion and forgetting about the Fire Heart and physical attacks altogether.


Today's daily will be Astral's 100th win in total, and four more dailies later he'll have his 100 streak. I'm getting psyched for this.

Hmmm, should be doable then. Sorcerer is good. Dwarf never seems to be quite as good as I think it should, but it might still be ok. I think Mystera might win over Fire Heart for me, too. Refreshment+Essence Transit can heal a lot of mana and a considerable amount of health. Fire Heart scales with Dwarf a lot more than it scales off of Sorcerer.

I would probably have trouble with Dwarf Sorcerer VT, but I am somewhat optimistic about this run, especially with the low risk of getting trapped. But we'll see.

Ugh. So. There I was, giving the Firstborn the finishing blow, and generally being happy with my Earthmother worship. I turned my gaze to Evolvia, and remembered Darvin's suggestion on converting to TT. So I made one last Plantation + Entanglement, converted my WEYTWUT, and converted to TT, poured some money and get some Edge.
I then hit Evolvia twice and triggered TT's punishment.
Luckily I still have all my resources and there are very few monsters left (which is why I shouldn't have converted to TT anyway), so I was still able to get Unstoppable, but barely.

MA is a good preparation. Earthmother isn't bad but even with Compression Seal my inventory feels cramped. BURNDAYRAZ + ENDISWAL + WEYTWUT + IMAWAL are all pretty essential, and then you get Fire Heart and your potions slot...

Dwarves are lame, but at least you got the Fire Heart here.

The one mistake I made was forgetting that TT's potion boon needed a Health Potion to activate. Still made it.

Went sort of ok I guess. Ended up buying Fire Heart, Platemail, and Trisword. Prepped Mystera and attack boosters (only Attack Booster win so far!) and went to town on things. Skipped Flame Magnet because Sorcerer is fine at Level 1 with pretty much any glyph at all. Ended up being WEYTWUT, which was pretty funny as a level-1 HALPMEH substitute. Nothing ever seemed to be the right level or non-magic, so I probably kept things alive for too long overall. I was fairly low on the XP charts, but not impressively so. I converted ENDISWAL and WEYTWUT before leveling for the last boss, so I wasn't in the mood for popcorn on this particular map, not with a barbing bush looking to block me off if the walls were to close in. I got lazy in the piety department and didn't use Earthmother as much as I could have, but I chalk that up to wanting to use mana potions to fuel the Trisword (and to fireball/Essence Transit my life back up and refill Fire Heart)

Pretty good shops for a brawler sorcerer overall. I even skipped Battlemage Ring, not that it's bad.

That is why I almost never use IMAWAL on Shifting Passages. It's just not worth the risk, however tempting the situation may be.
