Well, I saw Bloodmage on Northern Desert then thought I'd make it a little harder by going Purist. Then the first god I found was JJ so I thought I'd do it with JJ without Petition to make it more interesting. Worked it out Parched. Satisfying all around.

Soul Orb was unexpected MVP prep in this run. My first few levels were a struggle until I got the things I needed, but as soon as I hit 2 I leveled back to back off of higher enemies and made up for the time I'd lost. High level wraiths were easy targets with fireballs, orb, and GETINDERE, and many of the highest enemies were indeed wraiths. You know you're leveling well when you can just kill Aequitas as just a matter of course while leveling.

Annoying little layout. Practically no monsters in the first quarter of the map I explored and didn't find Burndarayz until I had won.

Thought it was going to go terribly bad, but things turned around suddenly and it became one of my best runs. Top ten in piety and total damage.

Converted Bludtopowa early as it was doing me no good whatsoever. Weytwut and JJ helped a lot. Had the Trisword but ended up converting that, too.

It's finally sinking in to my thick head to just leave stuff lying on the ground rather than picking it up or converting it right away.

Took a page out of fall_ark (and Tinker)'s book, managed to edge out the top spots for both XP and Piety by a little - beat smuglapse's 350 XP by 1 (351 XP) and fall_ark's 516 piety by 15 (531 piety). Nobody "issued a challenge" to me today, just wanted to challenge myself, :D (took it real slow and deliberate).

I suppose prepping Elite items today made the difference - Stone Sigil (meant more piety) and Martyr Wraps (made higher level kills much easier, killed Aequitas at 5 and the Tower of Goo at 6). Was replicating what fall_ark did, so I almost explored like 80 to 85% of the map, got petition, 1 health and 1 mana boost, Hero's Helm, Stone Sigil and Martyr Wraps before I even started killing anything.

I was kind of worried not having enough XP to hit 10 (after the humility). Made a tough decision to go for Enlightenment first (with 9 beads) before I hit 10. Did a bunch of glyph and potion conversions after this, leaving only WetyWhut and Getindare which are good for squeezing out more XP and piety with JJ - this was necessary since I only got minimal piety going into JJ from GG (30 from hitting 10, plus a bunch of conversions -> was around 30 piety after converting to JJ). Getindares and WeytWhuts before kills helped to push me up to the 80 piety needed for Chaos Avatar (probably "wasted" around 10+ XP from the kills before the CA).

[Now, that I recall back - heck, I forgot to get the free 50 piety from PactMaker and also desecrating GG. So, could have gotten 80 more piety at least.

351-330 = 21 XP. The XP I "lost" from pumping up piety for CA is around 10+ (could have been more, can't remember). And 3 of both types of potions could have netted another 18 XP using the PactMaker's pact. That easily makes up the 55 XP to hit 330 from 275. Now that I think of it, could have even pushed XP up to the next level by taking CA at 330 for 390. But seeing that I conveniently forgot about the PactMaker today, seems like I am just not fated to do so, :P ]

Guys,

I've just created a very basic wiki article on the Daily: http://www.qcfdesign.com/wiki/DesktopDungeons/index.php?title=D.E.R.P.

I think by now we should have enough experience to flesh this out a bit. Comments / edits welcome! 8-)

(It's currently an orphaned page, we'll need to link it in properly once the contents are up to speed.)

EDIT: If folks prefer, we can create a new discussion thread for this topic, to discuss some of the finer points. I'm just not yet sure, how much feedback to expect...

We can probably just use the discussion page on the Wiki itself. The important thing is alerting people who might not see it to the new wiki page's existence.

Half-Dragon, The Labyrinth

First time in a while in a daily that I've just simply run out of steam, resources, and blackspace and just outright wasn't good enough to succeed. I suppose being able to actually use Binlor would have been a huge help, but even with Half-Dragon I've never really been able to get anything worthwhile out of him, picking up maybe a knockback boost and then spending a lot of time just trying to avoid level-up punishments. I didn't even try to join in on him; I tried with the last Half-Dragon and got nowhere.
