I don't know what to suggest for the VT, what works out depends on your playstyle. There are small things that help out, like bringing a burn salve to deal with corrosion , prepping the stronger potions to ease the dungeon. You could try an Orc Berserker of Taurog, since Zin Kibaru has magical attack it makes one part of the dungeons easy. You could also try fighting lower level guys, maybe that will help save recources. You could prep a Balanced Dagger to make leveling a non-issue.

Gorgons are amazing
Look for gods and items that boost damage% an resistances. You are a regenfighter so blackspace is very important, don't waste it. SMM will be easy, for the Goo set up some dings and maybe use potions for the kills. If you don't have enough firepower to bring it down, try to raise your deathgaze high enough that you can hit through his resistances. That will make it regenfightable, but fireballing is still an easier solution.

Edit: On HB you don't have to kill the Troll while being lower level if you choose to fight it. You can push/move him out of the way, and come back to him later when you overleveled him, so the kill is easier and you still get the awesome CP bonus.

In terms of the gorgon run, I seem to have been getting the short end of the stick in terms of RNG, as either I can't get glyphs without wasting blackspace, finding gods who are non helpful (i.e. TT), or just getting items that won't help. The best I've done so far has been being able to brawl SMM down to a low amount of health, then discovering that my subdungeon I was intending to use for regen was the elven boots one with no blackspace, forcing me to use potions and putting goo out of my reach.

Though I have been delving into gorgons a bit more recently and discovering that I'm much more of a fan of them than I initially thought I was. Deathgaze is incredibly helpful to me for taking out higher leveled enemies or ones that give weakness/corrosion/curse.

I agree with all of the posters above me, and would only add this about Gorgons: EM and TT are good gods too. EM's early vineforms and greenbloods boost your attrition significantly in the early game, the Imawall glyph let's you fight smaller guys to preserve blackspace. Since you have Endiswall getting around plants is easier than usual. You shouldn't worship EM for too long, and if you use her as piety farm she will be great for hopping into your next god.

Using TT is trickier. Join him around the midgame when you have popcorn to slay and already found a safe altar to convert to. Dodging is most reliable for regenfighters, and taking 1-2 additional levels of poisonstrike makes you very good at taking down big guys.

And Gorgon purist on the Slime Pit is down. One more victory for Martyr Wraps-bearing regen fighters. Had to use a health potion for finishing off SMM, but was surprised to find that Goo had 300 less hitpoints than I thought he had. Finished with 2 health potions and 50 piety in Binlor for stone skins left over. Thanks to anyone and everyone who provided help!
