That was waaaaaaaaaay to close for my comfort today. Wish I'd have taken the Health Pendant; couldn't soak up a hit of the last boss in the end, and I was out of blackspace so I couldn't level any further. Also had to use a reflex potion to get rid of Herp/Derp?/magic immune guy via first strike.
When I was left with the boss, I used bloodpools to refill my health, and then used a shop for overheal. Blast with a fireball, rinse and repeat. The last hit was dealt via bloodswell, and I had thankfully one popcorn left to get rid of the curse... but man, that was close. Lot of mismanagement going on, my rats gotten rusty.

Honestly, I kinda wish we'd get a thief run soon.

Oh yeah finally another Rat Monarch run! I've been *craving* for the next one for a while now! ;)

I'm really sorry to see the low win rate (and read the less-than-happy comments). :( I was really hoping that Tinker's Guide to winning any map, anytime, with the Rat Monarch would have helped in the next Rat Monarch run (I wrote it up just after the Shifting Passages incident, because I don't think it's OK that Rat Monarch must have a <15% winrate, it's a quirky but very strong class!).

Anyway, for the write-up... Went faithless for the beginning, and seeing the altars I figured I'd go Dracul -> GG (with Taurog being there as easy desecration fodder). I timed my purchases carefully, converted all glyphs except BURNDAYRAZ and ENDISWAL, left potions on the ground and drank them only when needed, and generally wrecked the place. I generated a shameless amount of Dracul piety, took 5 shots of Blood Tithe, Blood Shield, Blood Hunger... Dracul is actually a pretty good deity today, thanks to all the health boosts available.
"Thinker", just without the "ache".

From what I have observed (whatever little that I know of), there are many guys that don't appear here (in qcf forums) but they can be quite fast (under 15?).

These people normally crumple when the maps are more "difficult".

Speedruns are kind of hard, in the sense not only do you need to be fast physically, I guess you also need to be pretty much accustomed to quick decision-making, prioritizing what needs to be killed, etc. Kill higher levels (waste less time), start on bosses early (finish with min or low XP) and just hit the victory button.

Also, makes people more prone to "accidental" deaths.

[I waste too much time, mopping up and clearing my inventory, maxing out buys, etc. for piety and XP maxing - which accounts for the huge difference in the leaderboard and end screen times. Still, I am pretty slow]

Rat Monarch-I fell victim to converting ENDISWAL. I thought, oh I want to keep either PISORF or ENDISWAL. I can just use PISORF to kill the magic guy after I fireball the physical guy to death, completely forgetting of course that magic immunity also applies to PISORF.
