Argh, almost had it, but Earthmother screwed me.

After studying the map layout, I basically concluded that victory and defeat hinges on one thing: can you kill that 3rd level golem. The glyph layout is extraordinarily generous (BURNDAYRAZ, HALPMEH, AND GETINDARE all near the entrance), and once you've killed that golem you have a whole bunch of easy popcorn to build up food and make it through those stretches of empty space to explore the map. My game plan was to immediately head along the north exit and kill the 2nd level troll. With a 1st level kill along with it, that takes you to level 2, strong enough to beat that Golem if nothing goes wrong. The availability of Soul Orb (don't get greedy! You need mana burn immunity more than that keg) means the murkshades and wraiths cease to be problematic.

Unfortunately I bounced to Earthmother when I leveled up to level 2 and couldn't kill the plants to reach the Golem without incurring game-ending corrosion. This is definitely possible, but it comes down to sheer dumb luck. If I'd had Dracul as my 2nd level deity I'd have been fine (would have needed to convert a potion for piety, but not a big issue). I wonder if you prep both Binlor and Mystera if Earthmother gets replaced...

Well, I guess it's nice that the 100 club got its new members before this happened.

Another Goatastrophe.

Very fast and stupid dungeon play today.

Death by LEMMISI. Didn't even know that was possible because, technically, I wasn't moving.

Found it in a subdungeon after only killing two level 1 monsters. Went topside and cast it once. BAM. Dead.

Two wins so far, from the second and third place for current streak, nice!

No, I didn't go in blind; I doubt I would have won otherwise. First gods were MA then EM. Hi BTW :)

By the time I encountered the four starting plants I was still hoping that the run could somehow be salvaged. So I came to the thread and see that it's basically mission impossible since I too spawned with EM  I wonder if I'd skip this run if I saw the thread first, but no use worrying about spilled milk right.

Here's to a new start tomorrow...

That was way too close. I ended up with all my food and items converted and just a burndayraz which was just enough to finish off the physical resistant boss (who was at 90% phys resist and 15% magic resist due to an unavoidable Mystera punishment at lvl 3 early on before piercing wand did some magic). My run started with Binlor, and then I jumped to EM right before uncovering some plants, so I was stuck with 2 + 5 (EM punishment) stacks of corrosion until I found the potion store.

I explored the wrong way, forgot EM hates lifesteal and as last resort used "LEMMISI" hoping maybe it doesn't consume food.
Only thing worse than this would be goat in Labyrinth.

Congrats to those few dungeoneers that made it. Quite an amazing feat.
