I beat Tinker Silver. I'm not kidding, it's probably not worth a brag and everybody's done it, but I totally won after like... 15? 20? Something attempts. Rather simply, mind you, it just took me a million attempts somehow. I didn't even remember it as nightmarishly hard, and it still doesn't seem hard or undoable just...
...you go at it and half way through the first run you notice you can't convert stuff. Next run, notice that the walls start appearing. Then next you remember that you have translocation seals, but you fail to notice that there's a bridge and still think you're supposed to teleport, well, that's that then. Then for a few runs you get nowhere with spellcasting, so you decide to go Taurog. Then you notice that the boss changes abilities when he blinks, and that you need a fireball. Then next run, you kill yourself with the fireball because the clown can, you discover, have retaliate:fireball. Then next run you discover that you need some actual popcorn around the place because he can have curse, too. Then you still aren't sure about what items you need and can you spend anything...
And then when you've learned aaaaaaallll the things! (by dropping dead or hitting a brick wall) you just get all of taurogs junk, fireball, the bound sword (also trigger the cursed scroll and the cracked orb on time) and possibly something else and you kill the guy. Been close with an EM into Taurog attempt too, and there's probably other solutions, but it's one big d**k move and it starts being funny at some point.
Still, I'm somehow totally proud I did it. Warmonger Warlord VT with no vicious rewards took me 4 tries, this thing took me... I lost count how many. I bet someone else did it on their first attempt.
Also, I must've failed about 4 times by getting myself punished by Taurog which was totaly my own fault
