Speaking of, have you managed to solve any more of those shade? I have solutions for the remaining 3, so it's not like I need you to, but it's always nice to get feedback on the puzzles since (understandably) so few bother to solve them.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

Heretic Gold cleared!
https://prnt.sc/l20uhd

Here is a pretty detailed walkthrough of the run:

Wow. That was... epic. There's no other way to describe it. There isn't a lot in this game that is of this scale - the only things I can think of are VGT and the Triple Quests. You described it perfectly - this is a brutal challenge that requires absolute mastery of the game and the Heretic class, and also requires very deep strategic thinking. Rather than the normal decisionmaking that takes place during the run, a lot of this challenge is just figuring out how to approach it - and the fact that there are apparently multiple ways to do this is mind boggling, given how much preparation and planning went into this run. Hats off to you guys for making this - I enjoyed it more than anything else in the game so far!

EDIT: @Avatar: Well, no, since I was working on this instead. I might pick them up again before starting on the East, but I want to unlock more items as well...

Congrats to both of you!!!

So much messages in just one week, I barely had the time to read all of them.
Luckily I didn't had to read all of it because I don't want to spoil myself Heretic Gold until I try it.
Thank you for making this thread so alive, and thank you for keeping the spoiling parts in spoilers tags too!

@Nurator glad you like the reward! I took me a whole weekend and my best hacking skills to pull that off.
The only thing that was harder to implement for me so far was the part 6. unlock stuff.
Hopefully I'll have some time to improve it before the next release, your suggestions were already listed on the improvement
list.

Meanwhile I'm just coasting through all the Hard dungeons again. Gonna be facing off with Horatio soon, then it's EE and vanilla vicious time. Rust is coming off nicely, I've not lost a single run yet and doubt I'll start any time soon.

@Avatar - I had a lot of resources left. I had pretty much two full subdungeons untouched, though I had to explore quite a way through Binlor just to set up the boss there properly as he spawned badly (if he'd spawned better, I don't think I would have needed the blackspace at all).
I didn't make many big mistakes, but my play in general was rather sloppy - I kept misclicking on the wrong tile, wasting quite a bit of blackspace over all.

Looking at your strategy, here are some thoughts:

About what you said for the class challenges - what are your thoughts on just putting in Curious versions of at least the gold challenges, for very special rewards? I realize it's probably a lot of work, but I think that would be really interesting. For this Curious challenge, I think giving the final boss (and maybe the other bosses, at the cost of lowering their health or attack) Revives wouldn't be a bad idea. In particular, Taurog's boss with Revives would force you to spend two Quicksilvers on just him - the others wouldn't be affected all that much, I don't think.

Just blew through Bard Silver first try. Not much to say here - the strategy is pretty obvious, and the boss is just random enough to be annoying. I beat it with GG and I can't think how Binlor is meant to help here aside from being an easy desecration. It was a fun enough run, though.

Cleared Everfrost Peak (kill 10 enemies or less) with a Warlord and got Hoarder by accident. This dungeon looks like it isn't going to be fun to try and get Unstoppable in at all... do you die after exploring too much? Or just get more frostbite?
