Yeah, Troll and Heretic definitely have a lot more personality than Bard and Magician, I feel, mostly because unlike most other classes, you can't just play them as a "generic" class. For instance, you can play a Crusader without ever understanding the class traits and just play a basic generic resistance stacker and win every time - for Heretic that's not possible because you can't stay with any one god, and Troll has the resistance cap, of course.

Huh, Oasis Town on Curious felt exactly the same as the standard one... did I miss something important? And is it even possible to defeat Vicious Oasis Town? oO

The boss changes, every form applies its usual bonus 3x over, so slime form gets 75% physical resist rather then 25 (and it can't appear a second time)and so on. You're basically fighting the boss as if he got 9 bonuses, but over the usual 3 middle forms.

Also yes! It can be done with some out-of-the-box strategies. The one I used involved a certain class often seen as the weakest in the game, and took advantage of the fact that one of their main drawbacks don't apply to Oasis Town.

That being said I think it is easily doable with a high damage physical class and just scumming for no physical resists.

Troll is amazing for self-cannons in Curious Labyrinth, allowing me to leave with almost all the popcorn untouched. The bosses are low health, so I think it's one of the easiest VT dungeons for the Troll, and saves the most blackspace. If I'd gotten Platemail, or a bigger subdungeon (Zombie Hallway, for instance) I would have won.

Curious + Vicious + Scrooge is an interesting challenge indeed.
If you can, please record a video of your successful attempt, as I would love to see it.

I'm still not convinced that the Shadow Heart is the best prep for a Troll however. Is it that strong?

I think Shadow Heart is usually a suboptimal prep for Troll. Dwarven Guantlets are really strong, as is Platemail and Draining Blade. However, for the self cannon the Shadow Heart is ideal because it effectively doubles your level for the purposes of APHEELSIK. Also, Troll is not a good spellcaster and does not benefit much from BLUDTOPOWA since his black spaces are too precious to him, so you want Shadow Heart to deal with Tomithy, Medusa, Tower of Goo, and the Tormented One. Finally the bosses with VT have too much damage for the Troll to really benefit much from Platemail or Life Steal.
