Looks like you started battle before L8, that's why I lost that attempt.
Now it's done, I guess it's good to mention on wiki, that you need level up for Avatar fight.
And some luck, sure... Sometimes all of them got ~150 damage, but may be it's supposed to be so... I used all I got and that was just enough.

Looks like I completed this game! :) All challenges, puzzles, dungeons and Triple Quests are done. Miss two achievments, Boy Scout and Masochist. :D
And may be the biggest challenge is to beat your streak, but I'm not so crazy. :) And I'm bad with these things you know which requiring daily approach... Just have no patience. I can play for days if I need to complete VGT for example, but just play every day to have streak - no.
And BTW, VGT is all - just technicality, as you said. ;) Once you mastered all the classes and game itself... I do love the game and VGT in particular, the only annoying part was that scumming for GG (mostly), and sometimes for items or GETINDARE. But some classes I did easily in one try (Berserker, Warlord, Priest, Bloodmage - hard to do floors, easisest boss fight thanks to Sanguine), just when got all I needed at once.
It was a wonderful time! 8-) This game is really so good.
I wanted to start a new kingdom and make a thread about playing it, from scratch to 100% completion, which I already did. Would not it be too arrogant? Or would be interesting? May be I need some rest now, but lately. :)
Many thanks to the creators!

I feel this is the toughest run I have encountered so far (maybe VGT will be worse, like for Rat Monarch, Gorgon, GoatPerson, etc.).

Not only do you need the right preps, you also need the right items and glyphs and sometimes Subs to turn up to be able to do this. At first, I prepped GG, and then later realized the piety generated is just too little to fuel (Spirit Pact)-boosted food conversion refills. So, in my recent attempts, I had to prep Conjunction and scum for GG.

In my numerous failed attempts, I also had different combinations of items and glyphs that turned up: Sometimes I got Halpmeh, Crystal Ball, and other times I got Halpmeh, Platemail, and Crystal Ball and Elven Boots (from the Sub), and also got Crystal Ball and Pisorf before. I thought that getting Halpmeh, Crystal Ball and Dragon Soul would be the best but I have never seen Dragon Soul spawned even once in my numerous attempts.

In this winning run, I had Pisorf, Crystal Ball, Viper Ward, and Platemail.

I have also tried taking Extra Mana Boosters but seems that Attack Boosters are more beneficial. And BearMace is also very important especially when you do back to back attacks on the same boss without regen from tiles, by just using conversion-enabled refills.

Another point that I "learnt" through my failed attempts is that taking Enlightenment just for the additional +5 to mana would go a long way when you are fighting the bosses.

This certainly feels like the toughest run I ever experienced so far! Only Rat left for NC and I will be left with badges in VGT to fully rainbow the map (hope I can pull it off :P).

I think I get it, I mean L1 Avatar kill.
Imps can blink on stairs to him... Right? :) So if you got LEMMISI/B2P, WEYTWUT and CYDESTEPP on a Rat heavily loaded with Reflex/Quicksilver potions... Someone did it? Is there screenshot?

I thought that Crystal Ball was needed to win in Naga City as a Rat Monarch but apparently not. I knew Rats were strong but this was an "unexpected" but pleasant result for me.

When I initially saw that the shops didn't have any items that were super useful, I had wanted to restart but I thought might as well give it a try. Converted off 1 potion and drank another 4 to boost my Max HP with bought Alchemist Scroll. Went down with Burndayraz, Pisorf, Bludtopowa, 3 Mana Potions, Dragon Soul (prepped) and Viper Ward. I thought Bludtopowa might come in handy when you need to fireball spike some of the Phys. Resistant bosses, but I had it sitting in my inventory until the end when I realised that I had forgotten about it. Using heavily-corroded bosses as cueballs was more than enough to bypass things like resistance and I could even avoid trading hits with certain bosses with nasty effects by bringing their HP down low enough for the finishing kill through indirect hits. Free 50 piety and Scholar's Pact also helped especially with my fairly sizable HP pool (162 HP). Binlor was also useful for the occasional Stoneskin and also to clear off walls to allow access to more tiles.

I Ratted NC easily too, was very surprised. Rat seemed very weird and unusual at first, but it is very strong and flexible, just like all other classes....
