@Mtaur... HALPMEH is ok but not essential. What works fine without it is to keep exploring, restoring both bars, and hitting what you can as you can. If you check my Vicious vics, you'll see how tight I played them - almost no restoration lost on either bar. When your Health is close to max, find the biggest monster who you can hit without issue and hit it. When your Mana is close to max, either do some preparation (destroy walls, teleport, heal, etc.), or kill someone using spells (fireballs deal some damage of their own, PISORF does zero base damage but triggers Corrosion more times).

Now, Bleaty should be close to 100% defeatable with a Rat, there are so many items/glyphs/strats that can work against him. It's a pity you didn't see through to completion, I'm sure the map could've been won. You can use CYDSTEPP, but you can also do so many other things (starting with, just blasting the guy with fireballs and using prepared level-ups / potions to refill; I mean, even with 50% MR, he needs fewer fireballs to go down than the Goo). You could also use any form of knockback (melee or PISORF) to knock a corroded monster into him and kill him (if you look back, in the dailies thread, I posted a Level 1 Bleaty kill on one of the dailies where I used PISORF to slam two heavily corroded zombies into him); you can use Quicksilver and/or Reflex to place a few stacks of corrosion on him, and then he should go down very fast to regular fireballs; you could use stoneskins or death protections; etc. Altars add even more options, basically most deities offer something against him (Binlor: stoneskins + resist reduction + knockback; Taurog: death protections; Mystera: casting boost, resist reduction; Tikki Tooki: dodgestep potions; etc.).

In terms of portraits... Sadly, no, I believe the Rat Monarch follows suit with all the other monster classes and they only have a single portrait each. Which is a pity, I would really love to play a lady vampire, all seductive yet deadly... ;)

Oh, I tried Whurrgarbl recently, and it rocks, at least on derpy Normal dungeons. Have you tried it yet? You could run into tankiness issues on harder dungeons maybe, but this prep steamrolled Normal in a way that you usually can't as the rat.

If you've got stoneskins for corroding the boss, Alchemist Scroll can work quite well, as it also lets you just swill the first two potions and free up room, and then you can even convert it for more room at some point. You don't have to trigger it at every level, if you've got, say, stoneskins then yould get a phys boss corroded enough off of one ding with the health boost, and then you can just use spells. And yeah, I don't prep Whoopaz either, dodge + reflex probably always a better plan.
I almost got pwned by Shifty Brickwork!
