Couple of questions from a noob

Postby Murdus on Sun Nov 13, 2011 10:52 am

Question 1:

Can anyone give me a hand with it Complicated Tasks Pt 5? I have absolutely no idea how to deal with it. I tried Trisword/I-cant-type-the-name-of-the-sword-but-it-gives-you-damage%-per-manapotion, with a Halfling, worshipping Taurog, destroying all glyphs at level 1, chugging every potion everywhere, ever. Didn't work.

I tried worshipping the Earthmother, getting ridicolously high damage reduction / Trisword count / corrosion, didn't work either.

I even tried a Dwarf Wizard to survive the barrage from the boss, didn't work either.

Question 2:

How do I unlock the Goblin, and the Transmuter? (I actually paid the goblin, but ragequit with alt-f4 after a death, goblin never appeared again since)

Question 3:

How do I beat Minecraft with -anything-? I'm probably bad at this, but it feels impossibile with any of the melee classes, plus with the old Piercing Wand gone, it feels impossibile with magic users aswell.

Thank you in advance.

I beat complicated tasks pt 5 with a human wizard with a trisword. Not sure how well that would work out now, but I do recall using mostly death protections on the boss so maybe trisword would still work if you chugged all your potions beforehand.

Magma mines aren't so tough because if you can beat one boss the other drops to 1 health. Any class should be able to handle the one hit needed to finish off the 2nd one, then the final boss is all you have to deal with.

The Goblin, from memory, appears at random. For the Transmuter, isn't it unlock via a series of quests?

For Complicated Tasks, maximising piety with Taurog (and hence death protection) is key. I'd go with an Orc or Human as well rather than trying to maximise damage with potions. Aside from the obvious, perhaps Agnostic's Collar would be good so you can freely desecrate the other two altars. Likewise, while strength potion is useless in the late game, perhaps use it at the start to get a damage boost (pity you can't use BYSSEPs and/or GETINDARE with it).

Thank you, I'll try that.

Another question: I have unlocked these gods: Glowing Guardian, Dracul, Tikki Tooki, Mysteria Annur, Taurog, Earthmother. Do Binlor Ironshield, Jehora Jeheyu, and the Pactmaker make an appearance?

EDIT: Also, is there a wiki that is updated? The official wiki still has info mostly on the free-to-play alpha version.

Binlor Ironshield is unlockable. The other two isn't.

Thank you. Does it come around randomly with a subdungeon like the rest of them, or are there some conditions?

He is in a subdungeon with an ENDISWALL glyph. Just keep blasting and you'll reach his altar.
