How about priests get polytheism - can worship multiple gods simultaneously. Can abandon a god for 1/2 piety loss (no minimum piety required).
Even a simple no piety minimum to convert would be a nice ability, as it would allow you to specialize in one god's favor for a while, grab a bonus and switch off to another one. Priests are always trying to appease the gods, so trying to balance their favor is what they specialize in.

Maybe, but if you worship Taurog and Dracul you use Taurogs awesome piety gain for Draculs awesome boons

But aren't Priests always devout to one religion, and the one god, or gods, in that one religion.

OK here's a bit of a crazy idea: Priests get the Crusader's ability (4 altars). Crusaders get Polytheism (follow as many gods as they want), as befits their intro.

Yes, but priests would still be quite a bit weaker than the average class. How about 4 altars and no desecration penalties/extra piety for desecration.

What would happened if you followed conflicting gods like Mystera and Taurog at once?
