Just a few scrambled Notes and ideas

First of all, in a post on the qfc news page, they said that they wanted to take out no-brainer items, like the tri-sword and the berserker blade. My question is what about the gloves of midas and the troll heart? You're always going to kill stuff and level up, so if the tri-sword and the berserker blade need changing, so should these.

Second, Who thinks Vicious dungeons are harder before or after the last few updates? I mean before, the tri-sword was great, but now I can buy items like a keg of mana which can be an extra 3 CYDSTEPPS for my rogue. Just your thoughts.

Last, Namtar's Ward is still awful for all but a berserker. The -2 Max mana is every death protection, not just to have it in the first place! How about letting you use it as a death protection that when used fully heals you instead of leaving you with 1 hp. Not just your hp, mana too.

Well, I think elite items were intended to be good. And Vicious dungeons are still extremely hard. Most players have done few if any, and even the most advanced players (like you) tend not to beat them with a large variety of classes, yes?

Yup, all of them with one class each!

In fact, most of them I can only even conceive beating with one or two classes, unless you get 20 dodges in a row of 10% or something cheap like that.

Gloves of Midas probably still needs its conversion value reduced a bit, but otherwise I think it's fine. You're basically investing a moderate amount of gold (and inventory space) early on in exchange for the possibility of more gold later on, which isn't always a good trade (but sometimes is).

Troll Heart is just awful for anything except conversion fodder. A maximum of +10 max HP, if you manage to get it at level 1 and keep it the entire game? Even as a small item that's not worth the inventory space. At the very least it should give +2 or even up to +5 max HP per level (perhaps the bonuses stay with the item, rather than becoming permanent, so that you lose them if you convert it). Alternatively, something like +2% resistances per level could make an interesting and fairly useful item.

All of these alternatives seem like much better things than the current troll heart.

Neither the Troll Heart nor Midas Gloves are no-brainers. There's only a limited amount of money in any dungeon, so with the Troll Heart you're potentially trading away your ability to get a much better and useful item in exchange for a few hit points and some conversion points. Likewise, the Midas Gloves will probably give you a net gain of money in the long run, but in the mean time they're taking up inventory space and may prevent you from getting the item you need when you need it. Both of these issues are reduced if you can take in 50 gold, but for a lot of the game you can't, and by the time you can, they may be no-brainers, but they're also not that significant to overall success, unlike the old Trisword.

Troll heart is a no-brainer, cause at this point you always want to convert it.

Maybe the troll heart could give +1 HP regeneration per level. Then it would be much more useful.

That's a huge improvement! Would that be doubled by monks?
