I've only mostly skimmed the last couple pages of this thread, but what's the problem?

There's two classes that can beat every Vicious dungeon. That's great! There should be 18 classes that can beat every Vicious dungeon!

But if every class can beat every Vicious, then every class can destroy hard, rip apart medium, and annihilate easy...

Vicious dungeons were originally made to catch exploits. That's what we're doing...

Can even a 75% resistance Monk beat Namtar? I'm skeptical. Yes, he'll curb stomp a boss that only hits for 75 and only inflicts mana burn, which is both relatively easily countered and not really that detrimental to regen fighting. But what about a boss that hits for nearly 200 and inflicts weakening and corrosion? The current Monk is certainly not flawless - he gets way too much benefit from items like the Tri-sword, which is broken anyway and IMO shouldn't even be available to a class that is supposed to be fighting bare-handed - but just because he's really good when you put him in a situation that's almost perfectly tailored to his abilities doesn't mean that those abilities are overpowered across the board. (And comparing him to the Fighter is kind of silly when it's been made clear that the Fighter is deliberately meant to be a weakling once you get past the normal difficulty dungeons.)

Here's a solution! No bonus from items, immune to weakening and corrosion.

That only makes the class more "Orcs Only" than before, though... and makes alter scumming necessary on top of it...

My mistake! I meant no attack bonus from items. You can still use them.

That still makes them Orc only, because Monk needs a way to raise his base attack. There is no deity that offers that, and if items are out then that leaves Orc as the sole option.

Make him less specialized. Give him:

-Hand to hand: Cannot gain benefits from equipment
-Diamond body: Starts with 25% resists
-Discipline: Exploring a tile regenerates 15% of your max HP.

This would kind of incentivate the usage of dwarves...

The real problem with dwarves is their regeneration. Most of the time it's better to have your attack doubled than your HP doubled.
