That's still not 25 piety "whenever you want it".

It's in a very specific case when you have exactly 0 piety when you want to convert. And, like I said, you also lose the ability to take boons as soon as you find an altar.

On the whole, it'll come out about the same.

No, it's not 25 piety whenever you want. It's the ability to convert out without having to gather 50 piety. I'd actually say it's better than that since many deities can be very difficult to gain piety with and it becomes impractical to convert out. The ability to get in, grab your boon, then get out is massive.

True, but this is even better for specific. In levels like Naga City where you are guaranteed all altars this is a huge boost.
