Adding my voice to the chorus that Bleaty shouldn't be a random boss. He does enough damage to one-shot even a level ten character. There is a very narrow range of strategies that can deal with that, and not all dungeon spawns (prehaps not even most) give you the tools to implement them.

Desktop Dungeons is basically a puzzle game. Challenging puzzles are fine, but this is like handing someone a jigsaw puzzle without all the pieces.

Although I do like the gold reward for penultimate boss kills. Maybe secondary bosses should be specifically assigned to dungeons that suit them? That would also help with trophy hunting. And, yes, at this point I think it's indisputable that Bleaty is broken - you can't even rely on CYDSTEPP to beat him anymore. Lower Bleaty's mag resist to 0%, and even then he's still somewhat overpowered; while you're at it, give Tomithy and Medusa probably double the HP (or give them Bleaty's mag resist), although that doesn't quite bring them up to par either.

I've only seen the dialogues on my main profile where the vicious Tower is already beaten, but from the sheer number of them I'm going to say that I think the Horatio quest line takes way too long to get going. Maybe it's not as bad if you're playing from scratch, but having nearly the exact same dialogue come up several times in a row, with no noticeable change in the game state, seems rather tedious to me. Just start the quest chain later if it's going to take that long to get going.

Have treasure subdungeons become rarer now? I hardly ever find them anymore. Considering what a huge power boost those are (particularly on Purist runs) I think they should either be more common (if harder to access) or there should be other gimmicks that replace them if one doesn't spawn. Right now they add way too much of a luck factor to a game that already has IMO too much emphasis on luck (and/or scumming, naturally).

I'm not a giant fan of them for the reasons you mention as well, but its definitely Bleaty that pushed me over the edge.

As for the dialogues, they are much better spaced. I'd kind of prefer for them to be actual quests though.

Sure you can use CYDSTEPP to beat Bleaty without a warlord... just worship drac and give him all your HP (so ideally you are down to 1) then you can just chain cast it :P.

Ok - so with the changes to the tower of gaan telet, I am quite confused.

I see the quest in the tavern, but I can't see the location on my map.

Bug?

Edit: And yes, I have seen the tower prior to this update. Died there many a time! ;)

Same thing for me.

On another note, does anyone else think the addition of random bosses is a little ridiculous? I was excited because I read it first as just you might not get the "Quest" boss in a dungeon that has specifics. But having them in addition to a boss, and requiring killing both to "finish" the dungeon seems like a bit much.

Also, maybe I haven't played enough, but the taxidermist line doesn't seem to be doing anything for me. After my first fight, I saw 20 or so trophies at 75g, and with each subsequent quest message, nothing has really happened.I make like no money now regardless of which boss I kill, and I was broke to begin with. Now I have to grind 1-2 runs just to get enough money to attempt a quest with appropriate preps. Is this broken?

Some bosses were weakened after that, but some weren't. It made complicated tasks 5 almost impossible.

Trophies are worth 150 gold until you start getting Horatio messages. After that, it's worth 75 gold. After you defeat Horatio for the first time, it goes back to 150 and some dungeons on the map will start burning. If you go to these locations, you get 5x the normal amount of gold from trophies.

Yeah, Horratio's entire plot is selling rock-bottom priced trophies to crush your economy. It is obvious if you start a new profile.

Weirdly, I now have the hard, purist-only tower on my main profile (after having beaten the original tower and the level 8 Horatio tower), but I've never actually gotten the new Horatio quest. And having beaten the new hard tower twice the vicious tower won't unlock. Oh well, time to start anew I suppose.

Yeah, the new quest thing screwed up my old profile too.

Ok - now that I did a few dungeons and progressed the quest, I can see the tower.

However, it says that I can't go in until I have proven I can defeat all types of monsters. I currently have found 18 different trophy types (if I read the Taxidermist right).

At this stage, not knowing which trophy I need to find, it is feeling quite frustrating. If there were hints giving me directions on finding the missing trophies, it would not have the frustration factor.

Hope this feedback helps in some way...

PS - is there a list from other players of which trophies I should have collected by now? I have done all the quests except the Naga City one and the Tower (obviously) Thanks
