I'd actually quite like the Earthmother to get the same kind of love that Mystera just got. She certainly needs it, as right now she's mostly relegated to being gardener in levels like Ick Swamp or as a consolation prize if you can't find anything better. Plantation and Clearance are fine currently. However, greenblood is pathetic, vine form is only good for low-level characters and quickly goes obsolete. This leaves Entanglement as her only decent boon when you don't need gardening, which isn't nearly enough to carry her as a deity.

I don't think that Earthmother needs a complete rework to be good.

Something as simple as making Vine Form cost 5+0 would make her really, really strong. Having to deal with Clearance (or IMAWALL + ENDISWALL) would keep it from going wildly out of control.

I would LOVE to have 30 damage reduction, especially with the change to make Bandits have Resists Down.

If the cost was always five things could get wildly out of control. The plants give you even more piety anyways, so it'll be a steamroll. Perhaps 2+1 would be better. Easier at first, but more expensive later on.

Yeah, the fact that it gets out of control while stuck at 5 is kind of my point :)

Tue, but even so the plants are not enough of a bad effect. If you used the boon 3 times (Spawning 9(?) plants) and used clearance once that's 3 reduction, no plants. IMAWALL costs 7(?) mana so you're saying 14 mana is 3 reduction. That's 7 tiles with BLUDTUPOWA, and you could stack to 90 or more with that.

Have it spawn mana burning and poisoning plants only (neither can be IMAWAL'ed due to magic immunity) and a fixed cost might work, but I'm skeptical. 2+1 piety sounds pretty good, though it might be necessary to remove the +HP part in exchange.

I could see Earthmother granting poison, weakening, and/or corrosion immunity. Any of those three would be a very useful boon, without infringing too much on any other deity. IMO it would also make more sense for her to have the poison attack boon instead of Tikki Tooki (and he could make good use of the slow all boon in exchange).

The problem with vine form is that it has accumulating gains, similar to resists. This means it's practically worthless unless you go all-in, and allowing it to stack to higher amounts could potentially break low-damage bosses like the Indomitable without even putting a dent on high-damage bosses like the Avatar. So we can't simply raise your ability to stack more of it; this could potentially make it too strong in some scenarios while still leaving it too weak in the average-case.

I'm thinking that Greenblood and Entanglement should be merged together into a single boon. Corrosion and slow on every enemy on screen. Then have a new boon added to better round out the Earthmother.

So now were grabbing them with corrosive vines. Sounds fun!

So what's the last one going to be? How about hurting all monsters on the screen. That would be unique. It hurts all monster (not plants) by their level and spawns 5 plants. Costs 5(+5).
