Yeah, Gnomes belong at 90-100. Mana potions are waaaay more versatile than health potions. And elves at 60.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

Given how much has changed, I'd say you could probably bump the elves back to their alpha values of 100 points for 2 MP. However, 60 for 1 (or 120 for 2) is completely reasonable as well.

The alpha was exceptional, this just minority nerfs it. A bloody sigiland 2 glyph is the same as two glyphs. It just costs 8 more gold in the beta.

The problem with Gnomes is that there are many ways to raise their MP, while there aren't many ways to raise a Halfling's HP. If they just nerf JJ's Boost Mana to +3 MP, it's OK.

Problem is that boost mana could very quickly become a gnome-specific boon if it gets nerfed. With boost health, the numbers are quite low so it's mostly used to survive blows that would otherwise be 1HKO's, a situation where health potions don't do much good anyways (besides the fact, simply chugging the potion for +3 attack from a Trisword and saving the piety for something else is probably a better bet for a Halfling).

Yeah, the more you nerf it, the more Gnome only it is.

Yeah, but nowadays there is keg of mana/apothecary to increase the number of potions you can get.

Anything that increases your stats using potions will be overpowered for gnomes/halflings...

Didn't someone suggest that it be changed so that you use the other type of potion to get the boost?

That would make both boons useful for everyone.

Honestly I don't like either boon flavor wise.. doesn't feel very chaotic, in fact it sort of promotes personal control. Make them cause potions to give randomly between 20-60% or if you want it to on average be a bug, be 30-70%. Have it increase the ranges by 10% for every potion you convert.

So 2 converted potions will always be at least as good as a normal potion and sometimes up to twice as good. You gain strength at the cost of comfort!

Any time you're increasing the value of future potions at the expense of existing potions, you're going to run into the same problem that you have with gnomes right now - unless the boon is not strong enough to break gnomes, in which case no one else will want it at all.

I do agree that the current boon isn't all that chaotic.
Have a mug of tea.
