I haven't seen posted it, but Trisword was actually nerfed. Triswords no longer give +3 base damage per potion, it is +1 now. On a 4-4 potion adventurer, you now get 8 damage, instead of 12, assuming you quaff all your potions.

The Trisword I believe is no longer worth lockering.

EDIT: Nvm, posted on first page. Still; not worth it anymore.

Agreed; I'd rather bring a Fine Sword to get my +4 without having to shell out potions. Still might be worth purchasing in-dungeon, but certainly not as a prep. In many ways, Trisword just traded spots with Whurrgarbl as far as standard preps go. I also think Orcs got a pretty significant indirect buff, since now Skullpicker and Fine Sword are the only reliable items to boost your base attack.

Whurrgarbl/Fire Heart/Crystal Ball looks like a pretty scary combo now for hybrids. Add in a Witchalok Pendant and you're in business.

Then it may still make sense for Halflings and Gnomes... maybe. Still doubtful to its value as a locker item.

4 Schadenfreude in which universe? ... But in all seriousness, I don't think it counts "special use" potions, and even if it does, it's still only +12 - the old value after 4 health potions. BARELY reaching it's old potential, while the old Tri-sword had even greater potential if you found additional potions. (Shops, subdungeons, halfling)

New Tri-sword is not worth preparing anymore; and I'd go as far as to say it's not worth -buying- anymore either.

Okay, sweet, I'll definitely be testing this out with an Orc Rogue.

Okay, thoughts on the new Dwarf: utter garbage. Oh, sure, you can stack up enough DR to trounce level 3 or 4 monsters, and if you're a Transmuter you might be able to push that limit up to 6 or 7, but DR drops off in usefulness rapidly past that point. While I was able to power-level quite nicely, I found my end-game potential as a dwarf to be pretty close to zero.
