Frank with 888 hp and 105 dmg is NORMAL difficulty ?

Postby Ara on Fri Feb 24, 2012 4:57 pm

I like doing x5 dungeons with a new class each time, and this time it was Grimm's Grotto, a NORMAL dungeon. So I tried an elf rogue of Dracul, hopping I could get CYDESTEPP (and I got lucky) just for the fun to mimic the warlord. It was an enjoyable run.

Now to the point: the boss was Frank: 888 health, 105 damage. Is it normal for a NORMAL difficulty dungeon ?
Is is possible that vicious runs softened me up ?

Zombies are widely considered to be the strongest class of monster overall, and Frank is definitely one of the harder bosses. I still say that Bleaty is a much bigger offender though. In fact, I really, really think that Bleaty needs to be removed from the pool of random bosses altogether.

Also, I'm fairly certain that Grimm's Grotto has monster stats as if it were a Hard dungeon.

Grimm's Grotto is harder than many hard difficulty levels. It's not Frank (though he is the hardest of the "stock" bosses to begin with), it's the Grotto. It really should be classified as hard, especially since most hard-difficulty levels have been getting easier while the Grotto stays the same as it ever was.

It has bosses 1 level above the extra in Shifting Passages, Ick Swamp.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.
