Crystall ball will almost always be the best Mage prep.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

I don't know how balanced it would be, but it would at least be fun to have Transmuters do more actual transmutation. Like, every wall destroyed turns into a gold pile a la the Transmutation Scroll - but with some (very) low % chance to get a big gold pile, an extra HP/MP/Atk bonus, or even a (non-Elite) shop item. Give them the ability to polymorph monsters. X number of bloodpools can be collected and turned into a potion. Items can be transmuted into other items (of equivalent value). One or more of those abilities could make for an interesting class.

The extra boosters would need to be preset, or it would be the ultimate scum class. A preset 1 extra of each type of booster and 10 gold piles.

So I was thinking about this and came up with this:

Transmuter:
Earth Lore: Starts with 3 Transmutation Scrolls.
Earth Mastery: Destroying walls gives Might. Stoneskin also gives you temporary Magic Resist.
Earth Focus:Starts with ENDISWAL and IMAWAL. ENDISWAL costs 2 less mana.

Still focused on destroying walls, but now has simpler effects, wich allows it to NOT have a "downside" trait.

But then again his upsides aren't too great either. But they could come in handy.

That is true gjaustin. I was thinking (at the time) that Stone heart could simply not work...
First strike, while useful could be little too powerfull, not to mention it doesnt fit as well thematicaly.

It could just give a 30% ATK bonus instead of giving might. That way it could stack with stone Heart.

You mean stone form? How about a 10% bonus that stacks to 30%. So 3 walls gives you max resists and +30% attack.
