Oh yes. That would definitely be much better.

What if he just got conversion points for destroying a wall? That would keep the concept behind the current Transmuter (which I like) without the weirdness.

I don't think that'd be remotely viable balance-wise.

Oh lord that'd be broken... Unless it was like 1 or 2 CP.

That happened to be about the range I was thinking. Maybe 3.

Have fun using Binlor and the Pactmaker Pact that increases CP then.

Why are we all focused on having 'transmutation' as a bonus to using ENDISWAL? We could also try to balance him around the IMAWAL glyph, thats transmutating as well.
And it still combos with ENDISWAL; but the monster count is more reliable than the number of walls across maps, and Earthmother is underused at the moment anyway.

This draft tries to utilize both glyphs and makes him open to either worship EM or Binlor:

Transmuter:
Earth Lore:
Starts with ENDISWAL and IMAWAL being small glyphs.
Earth Mastery:
IMAWAL gives you might and heals you by the same amount as HALPMEH but is able to overheal.
Stoneskin also gives you temporary Magic Resist.
Earth Focus:
Gets 1 point of corrosion and weakening on LVL UP.

Now he seems pretty wimpy. The problem with IMAWALL is you're using a monster in addition to casting it, so you can't really balance a class around it. How about making the transmuter more like an alchemist? Convert this into this, that into that, etc.

You're not converting an item, so I would expect that not to work.

As for your IMAWAL idea, what if you got conversion points for converting the monster instead of destroying the wall? Basically an Exp to CP transmutation.

I've suggested this before as a buff to IMAWAL in general. Right now its only used against level 1's or non-XP enemies, so making it grant a number of CP proportional to the target's level (and only if it's an XP-granting monster) would widen its applicability.

That sounds like a good idea. Based on this, how about the following template for the transmuter:

- Starts with ENDISWAL and IMAWAL being small items
- Starts with the philosopherstone
(grants an enhancing effect on conversions while in the inventory; can't decide whats balanced from the following:
Healing / Gaining MP / Grants bonus to conversionrate / get gold (fits with the theme but overlaps with the tinkerer))
- Insert disadvantage that balances the class (Maybe heal MP through conversion but not through exploring?)
