What do you think would be great achievements for Desktop Dungeons, once it's released on Steam?

Personally I could care less about achievements. I'm sure they'll exist (they always exist these days) but don't spend too much time on them.

I just use achievements as a goal system to keep me interested once I've won the game. But I'm already interested, so they're irrelevant to me.

This game already has achievements, in the form of badges.

Honestly, a lot of quests themselves would count as achievements, such as the Way of the Open Fist questchain, the Bloodmage questchain (not that much), and sometimes just clearing specific dungeons with classes that are absolutely ill-suited for it.

I wouldn't try to beat Vicious Halls of Steel with a Monk, is all I'm saying... (no mr, magic damage only, the only ones that have physical attacks are illusions and steel golems. No, thanks.)

Every quest, winning vicious, and winning the game are obvious achievements.

As well as getting 100% on a Vicious dungeon, getting Purist on every dungeon, unlocking all the Monster classes, etc.

Yay Extra Credits!

Seriously though, the way I see achievements are as optional extra goals/challenges within the games mechanics. So the most intresting would be making some of achievements you wouldn't get by just playing the game (ei beat a certain dungeon or upgrade this and that building) but something extra and odd, for example having worshipped 3 differnt gods in a single session. (which I know is practiced on higher levels of play, but it still turns out to be something out of the ordenary for the player to attempt)

Yeah, I think the hardest achievements you would always get would be obtaining monster classes. After that they're all interesting challenges such as you mentioned.

But I agree with Murdus in that most of the quests do the same thing (ask you to do something odd within the games mechanics).
