Hmmm, so the piercing wand was a bug and not an intended feature. Now it's downright underpowered and requires Mystic Balance to function correctly.
I'd say that the negative resists should have stayed, but monsters should "recover" from negative resistances as you explore. This could also open up some new ways to treat other resist-down effects, including those against the players (ie, a long-awaited bandit buff).

Wait, are you saying you can't play monster classes at all?
They were grayed out on every dungeon I looked... to be fair, I only checked a couple of dungeons across all difficulties at random (I'm lazy) but i wanted to imply that, yes. Even if there should be some dungeons where you can still play them, there would be no logical pattern to it.
