Wow, great changes!

The XP formula change scares me a little bit though.

Crystal Ball now costs 5 gold to activate.

I wish you could have seen the smile on my face when I first read that. Still not sure on how this will turn out, but I'll be damned if it isn't clever.

Also yeah, the XP formula change sounds scary, depending on how radical it was. Also it breaks one of the puzzles, but oh well.

To be fair the puzzles are the last factor that should prevent a mechanics change. I wouldn´t be opposed to a change to the current paradigm never to kill an enemy of equal level. Highers give bonus XP and lowers take less resources to take out. Paradoxically equal level monsters grant the least resource/reward.

Love the Crytall Ball fixing attempt - inventive and ties up with a new resource, very very pleasing :)

Also love the idea of working on the XP formula - monsters as a concept really needed more love :)

Problem I have with the new crystal ball is that the item is totally disqualified in purist runs, but so long as you don't spam it like crazy (once every two levels and you're gold) you're fine if you bring a 50 gold prep. Remember that multi-boss scenarios drop a 50 gold cash infusion, so there's plenty to keep a crystal ball fueled in the actual boss fight, you just gotta ration up until that point.

Dracul's sanguine effect is now of highly limited value, and its primary effect is increasing your piety gain with Dracul. You'll actually get far more healing by converting the piety you earn into blood swells than you will from actually using sanguine.

Not happy with the Bloodmage change. He needs to be made less dependent on sanguine. He's not even a caster class...

It'll be interesting to see what the new XP curve looks like. Someone post the new formula once they've figure it out (I can't play right now)

If no one else gets to it by then, I'll try and figure it out tomorrow morning. I'm really hoping that there's now a bonus for killing an equal level monster. That alone would fix WONAFYT.

Not really. By the time you've explored about a fifth of the level there is no shortage of equal-level monsters to choose from, but your odds of having found WONAFYT are quite low. By its nature, this glyph is only useful if found in the very early phases of exploration, but your chances of finding it that early are relatively low. Also there's a comment in the other thread about the XP-puzzle being broken, which indicates that this is just a flat nerf and not a redistribution.

On consideration of the the new XP curve, it occurs to me that it may have the opposite of its intended effect. Because it will now be that much harder to reach level 10 (less bonus XP overall) it may now be more important than ever to maximize every bit of bonus XP you can get your hands on. I'll have to wait till I can play a few rounds to see how it turns out, but I think the biggest impact here is that it will be a stealth buff to Tikki Tooki, the Fighter, and WEYTWUT, and a stealth nerf to IMAWAL (whose only real use is multiplying large bonus XP values).

Does WONNAFYT still latch onto slowed monsters? If not, can we puhleeeeeze get any reasoning behind it?

You may very well be right.

I was thinking along the lines that it might bring WONAFYT up to the level of GETINDARE at least. Not great, but not so bad that you won't actually still use it if you find it early.
