That'd be neat, then you could work in the occasional melee attack without breaking burning. Also schadens too.

For high-level characters, a 50% reduction in attack bonus is just too massive to even consider if you're making physical attacks at all. A level 10 character has 50 base attack, so that attack bonus reduction reduces his total damage by 25. Meanwhile, your fireball gains only 10 damage. Anyone alternating physical attacks is not going to come ahead with this boon. The flames boon needs serious work; adding a burning attack is just scratching the surface.

The worst part of flames is that it cripples your ability to clean up popcorn. As a result, the only class I use the flames boon for is the Assassin, and even then very rarely.

Or use it just before a boss that you won't be using physical attacks on. Perhaps making flames +2 fireball damage per level and brining attack?
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

Hmm... Well, just weakening the bad effect is a step in that direction.
