As long as you can get 238 damage AA's, it will ALWAYS be broken.

The problem with Naga City, is if I get Tikkis poison boon from a convert off a prepped Binlor, I've already won. Just go in, pick Taurog (as a place holder who won't get pissed), Pactmaker (Consensus), and Dracul (Bloodswell). Just poison stuff to death. Whupaz Zombie. Schadenfreude Wraith. Kill all.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

Hmm... That would make things harder. You'll lose all your popcorn and therefore piety for TT.

Yeah, I'm not sure about those changes.

What if you just prevent the arena altars from spawning sparklies? It's that 40+ piety that really turbo-charges things.

Costing money to get the altars is a bit overboard. You will never get 75 before the arena without the gloves of Midas. Also, the problem with no upstairs gods is most gods need a good early piety boost to get them started. Maybe if spawning each altar gave you 15 piety and costed 10(+5) per altar, with a max of 3, it would work much better.

That'd be cool. Have some gold piles, monsters, etc. Still, with someone like GG you need him at level one, but if preps overrided the rule if could work.

Preps override would be great. What I quite like about the current NC is the bipartite complete building up exercise followed by a gods toolbox and a challenge you have to be ready for. Really leaves a *lot* of interesting strategic options which you don't have in many dungeons while not letting you be absolutely certain what you'll be up against. The reduced altar count isn't a bad idea but I'd like to still have the option for one god up-top (especially if that comes with drawbacks) so you've still got that kind of strategic depth/layering the current layout has.
