Yeah, with the healthmonster you want to regen between fights maybe once a level, if that. You should be able to hit enough levels above you that you don't really have to. Otherwise you'll run out of black space very quickly. A prepped fire heart is very useful (partly because it can let you spike harder, but also because it lets you transfer exploration into %-based health regen in the course of normal spellcasting).

Grim's Grotto frequently creates impossible maps and there's not much you can do about it. For consistency, try prepping Binlor. If you bring a trisword or an alchemy scroll (which is not a bad idea for a halfling) you can get some synergy by combining potion spam with Stone Skin spam.

Also, Grim's Grotto is a bit weird in that it does not use the Hard array for the monsters, but a unique array that is slightly more powerful than Hard, but way lower than Vicious. This makes getting started difficult without significant leverage. A well timed Slayer Wand can get you over the significant starting hump.

How do I unlock alchemy scroll? Is it though the witch missions? (Im going to try to finish the missions anyways regardless of how much I really am not looking forward to it. Esp. considering the easy way to just defeat the dungeon is Warlord with really big sword)

It is another Elite Item from Bazaar 3.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

Shifting Passages Unstoppable isn't to hard. I used elf sorcerer. Elf paladin works, and so does Dwarf bloodmage.

I agree, Hard Gaan-Telet was one of my favorite dungeons. It would have been sweet if they let us replay it.
