Have you completed the main story at all?
You lack a lot of preps but want to do vicious badly... I don't want to be mean, but maybe you should reconsider the order in which you want to do things.
I have a cylce when it comes to to rouge-likes. I but all my focus into one thing, and after awhile, I will succuss or just fail. If I fail, I will rage for abit, and then just for to something else in the game, and then the rage fueled system continues.
That's not the point. You get more gold after you complete the main quest (collect all trophies and beat the tower).
More money means less grind and more vicious. More importantly, you get more skill from beating the other dungeons first.
Vicious is not supposed to be beatable without a good strategy and good preps. By doing other dungeons first, you get both. In fact, the difficulty in DD scales to your growing level of control about the randomness through preps while the randomness stays the same.
Most rogue likes have a different concept. They mostly scale the randomness itself up and there is no control about it. That is the reason why it is possible to beat rogue likes eventually (given enough experience and luck) whereas the endgame of DD will remain hard as hell until you unlock stuff.
