New wiki topic (plz don't derail)

The old one got a lot done, but I think a clean slate will be beneficial:

I created a page for the Things to do.

Pick one, and get on it. :)

Any way to batch upload files?

I'd be happy to upload most of the images for the classes if I could just match the local file name with the wiki file name. I have to "screen grab -> crop -> save as" anyway so matching the filename takes 0 effort.

I just finished a guide about it.

It's long, but it's thorough do it once and you will probaly never need to look at it again.

Nah, on a mac you don't need to do half that stuff. Os X will save a screenshot of the current window to the desktop with a shortcut key, then preview (default image viewer) will crop the image and allow you to "save as", renaming the image in the process.

The painful part is having a folder of 100 images with the correct names to upload. Is it possible to batch them all into one upload or do I need to click upload 100 times?

Unless you get a bot to do that you're going to have to upload them manually.

And 99% of that stuff is not due to windows mechanics, it is so that I can grab 12 images of things like the character portrait in the time I would otherwise take 2. Cropping to the exact same coordinates.

I actually wrote a small java program to do that same task if you want it. To crop all the screenshots I take down from the window to just the DD iframe. Would you like it?

That's useful for full-game screens, I'm mostly concerned about stuff like images, buffs, etc.

Oh, it takes command line arguments telling it which part of the screen to crop it down to. You put a bunch of screenshots in the "in" folder, run the program with the right numbers, it cuts each image down and saves it in the "out" folder.

Good for enemy/player portraits I guess.

For square screens, it's extremely useful, for anything with an alpha channel, not so much, for the moment I'm not sure I have a use for it, but i the future I might, I'll holler in case.

Why's the alpha channel a problem?

Anyway, back to my original question, can I upload 10 screenshots at once and have the wiki just use the file names as their wiki names?
