Pretty much! Wow, that's a super great strat! I don't know about Gaan-Telet, the resist down bandits and goos.

Humility and Absolution now cost 15 piety, so you need to desecrate an altar to get out of GG now. That's annoying.

Well, at least it makes more sense.

Maybe, I haven't even tried playing GG long term. It was a shock at the time because I just wanted to dip in and out (I was using the tri-sword, so lots of pots) and I had to desecrate Binlor to get out (-40% attack, ouch).

Taurog is -40% attack, Binlor strips you of all your resists.

The Glowing Guardian's now has stacking piety gain from level-ups. First level-up while worshipping him grants 3 piety, second grants 6, third grants 9, and so on. If you get in the door really early then the stacking benefit picks up and will easily pay for your piety loss (though drinking potions to fuel a trisword is definitely a disqualifier). Because you can usually level up off of a single higher-level kill when you're a low-level character, and the piety loss has now been normalized to a much lower -2 regardless of the level difference, low-level characters can handle his punishments no problem.

Unfortunately, GG remains a total wasteland for level 4-7 characters. His piety gain will never take off, the sweet spot for his early-game boons has passed but has yet to arrive for his late-game boons, and piety loss from killing higher-level monsters will be at its most penalizing at this stage (since you need to kill many to level-up).

Ack, yes I meant Taurog. I had to desecrate Taurog to convert back to Binlor to take some Stone Hearts (I was in the Rock Garden).

Interesting about the piety. I'll have to try him out. He may be a good prep god now (although +20 conversion is pretty harsh).

This guy charges exorbitant prices in this new economy. So I destroyed his home.

I know, what a jerk. He doesn't even let me explore it. Don't worry, that guy deserved it. ;)

On the subject of GG, don't you only get -2 for higher level kills?
