Finally managed to complete the Witch quest to reach level 10 after a series of embarrassing failures. As I was mopping up the last stragglers for fun, I dinged again and was greeted by this.



After I finished mopping up, I did receive the DING! badge and the quest actually completed as it should. Might wanna make sure that fail message doesn't show itself unless the player actually fails.

Only way to irrevocably fail getting "Ding! Max" is to take the "blood curse" boon from Dracul at exactly level 9.

Pretty sure I got a Ding Max from using Dracul at level 9... thought it counted towards it...

could be wrong though

Unless this was changed and not listed in the patch notes recently, you won't get Ding! Max if your promotion to level 10 occurs as the result of a blood curse, since there never actually was a level-up event.
