Generaly, burning is a bit tricky to master it seems (I can't claim I have). The trick, I think is, to delay hitting with Phys untill you've stacked as much burning as you can.

It adds one to your fireball damage for every sucessive fireball, and it adds all the burning on the first non-fireball hit (but then removes it). So you could do 4 (1st fireball) + 5 (2nd fireball) + 7 (melle) = 16 to the goblin.
I almost got pwned by Shifty Brickwork!

A few things: When you looked to see if you could have killed any monsters one level above you (It was like a Zombie-5 and a Wiz-4 and something else, you could have killed the wiz-4 with GETINDARE.

Okay, Here's the how WEYTWUT works. It has 2 effects:

1) You and the monster switch places
2) The monster gains the slow status effect*

* Slow has 2 effects:

1) The monster loses first strike, blink, and cowardly.
2) The monster gives +1 exp if you kill it or 1 exp if you petrify it.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

Not the best annotated playthrough as my first one and done in a hurry but should show some stuff. hopefully useful.
edit: anyone know how to get photobucket links to work? /edit

Image
Starting point on a more or less fresh profile. Prepped Blacksmiths sword and pendant of health. Venture cave as a human fighter.

Image
Regen fight against the meat man 2 for cheeky and a quick level up

Image
Had a bit of a strut about looking for something decent to kill and found weytwut and endiswal. should make for an easy run

Image
built up a three stack of stone skin to take on the zombie 3. Weytwut for the last hit giving first strike (making it possible) and +1 xp

Image
Picked up a byceps. prestacked three stone skin and precast byceps then regen to full mana. hit, byceps, hit, weytwut, hit for win on zombie 4. Again - use of weytwut gives first strike and bonus xp.

Image
And repeat for his zombie 4 mate - same routine for ding 4

Image
precast byceps, regen to full mana then hit, byceps, weywut, hit for kill on warlock 5

Image
nipped into subdungeon to regen to full health and mana. this was a stupid waste because i then...

Image
cleared popcorn for a fast level and restacked stoneskin

Image
used byceps and regen fighting to beat a meatman 7. weytwot for kill.

Image
had a little explore and converted byceps for imawal,

Image
imawalled a level one warlock,

Image
took out a level 6 warlock (for 9 xp),

Image
then imawalled another level 1 warlock and triple stacked stoneskin while having a little explore finding a level 7 goblin.

Image
who i then killed using weytwut for 15xp. This is *the* greatest thing about weytwut - it gives you first strike, not only against higher level opponents, but also against 'first strike' enemies who otherwise override normal priority. This lets you use cheap tactics like stone skin to two shot enemies with high damage and low health who reduce to to near death with one hit.

Image
tidied up some popcorn for a level up and ditched imawal for burndyaraz. screwed this up and dinged twice - meant to start boss at lvl 8

Image
weytwut killed both level 9 goblins with mana regen from gnome sub dungeon

Image
finished of junk mobs and moved onto boss at level 10. plugged away with pure physical damage and used all healy potions and death protetction leaving me one hit short - so chugged a mana pot and used weytwut to kill boss, leaving me with three mana potions and the specialist trophy

Image
used a mana pot and burndyaz to take out the last level 8 for unstoppable

The general difficulty still needs some addressing, though as of Friday you shouldn't be running into Frank and SMM right from the beginning (I generally think that Aeq and Gobb are easier to tackle on a low-unlock profile, correct me if I'm wrong).

As for the Slayer Wand recommendation: we'll need to find a better way to convey this, but if you click on your Blacksmith before preparing for a dungeon run, you'll access the building and realise that you still have a couple of "pay slots" for more items. If you can round up 100 gold, click on an empty slot and one of your options should be the Slayer Wand. Get this: it's by far the cheapest item you can prepare from the Blacksmith, and it can instantly kill one non-boss enemy of your choice (veterans: it doesn't disqualify Unstoppable, either!).

If I have time, I'll take a look at your detailed runthrough and figure out how we can help some things be clearer earlier on.

That's just because he is obscenely hard compared to ALL of the other bosses. Every boss has a weakness EXCEPT Frank.

Agreed; Frank is by a considerable margin the toughest of the random rotation of bosses. While certain class/boss matchups are nasty, Frank is just consistently brutal no matter who you are or what you're doing. He's just a muscled wall of pain with above-average damage, well-above-average hit points, and poison immunity.
