Maybe not a bug, I've never fully understood Gorgons... had 45% death gaze, and up against SMM, he had about 110/1100 hp, so well below the threshold. Combat prediction didn't show win, so I hit him anyway, thinking it must be wrong, but nope, he lived on (well, for a bit). Every other critter it worked as expected, but not him. Haven't spent a lot of time with gorgons, so I don't really know if this is normal or no, but it doesn't seem right.

It's not just that, it's an extra attack, but the first one has the swift hands-like "ignores everything" max priority first strike. It's basicaly a free reflex potion on every attack after the monster is below a certain percentage. What's confusing me every time is that it's exactly like the reflex potion, so you can only insta-gib stuff which has as many HP as your attack value, and get killed if it's below threshold but above your attack.

No, no, the effect sayes "gives the gorgon retaliation", same as reflex does. Except death gaze applies swift hands priority on the first blow, then you have to survive the blow in between, then it applies the priority on the second one. So if you'd kill the monster with the first one it's an insta gib, if not, you have to be able to tank a hit.
