I think it is. Otherwise people would get stuck forever if they built up stacks of 20 curses or something because they were playing a Monk and had very poor curse management skills.

Speaking of of curse immunity, how about an item that takes a few teeth out of curses mouth. Right now, curse is probably the easiest to get, top 3 strongest, and the easiest to get out of control out of all debuffs. Can we get an item that doesn't count our first 3 layers of curse or something? Or could you add that to an existing item?

Anti-curse items... hmmm.... how about just tacking on effects to existing items?

Troll Heart: removes 1 layer of curse on level-up
Blue Bead: kills remove 2 layers of curse instead of 1
Mage Plate: grants curse immunity (curse layers still accrue, you're just immune to the effect while you wear the item)
Zombie Dog: removes all layers of curse when used

The mage plate, of course, gimps your attack damage while you wear it. I can't think of any better item to imbue with curse immunity than one that otherwise cripples melee-based approaches.

If you didn't convert it, the curse immunity would be almost useless, but otherwise it could be nice if you're going to fireball to death a bunch of curse monsters and then kill a non-curse boss. Kind of like the Matron bottom floor.

I just realized that my description of "curse immunity" was ambiguous could be interpreted either two ways.

A) It prevents you from gaining new layers of curse while you wear the plate, but you still must "work off" existing layers.
B) It protects you from the effect of curse, but you still gain new curse layers and fall under their effect if you convert the item.

I originally intended for A, but after Avatar's comment I think B is the more interesting of the two, and I've clarified my original post to specify that. So to gain access to immunity to the most powerful anti-melee debuff in the game, you must equip an item that's horribly double-edged for melee specialists. Seems fair to me.

Agreed. You wouldn't be able to do my cheap method to get around the Matron's Guards for example.

Darvin's idea is awesome.

Also I wouldn't mind an item that gives you damage/attack based on your Curse stack. "Damned Sword" or whatever. It'd probably be op with non-res classes especially on plant levels, but there.

Yeah... Just go in new cursed oasis with an Orc rogue, get 60 or so layers of curse and laugh as you destroy the world!
