The Rarest Trophy on the Market: Warlock Beard

Okay, I just encountered this in a new profile: There is no automatic way to get a Warlock Beard. Every other trophy has at least one constant spawn, except for the beard. We need a guaranteed spawn for Warlock Beards. The only two trophies with two guaranteed spawns are Gooey Messes (Slime pit and Northern Desert) and Wraith Cowls (Creeplight Ruins and Northern Desert). Assuming we don't want two bosses in Northern Desert and only one guaranteed spawn for all items (I personally REALLY dislike the switch thing and double spawns) We could:

1. Take out the Wraith from Northern Desert and the Goo Blob from Slime Pits, shoving a unique Warlock in the Slime Pits.

2. Take out the Wraith from Creeplight and the Goo from Slime Pits, making Anoobis' final form a Warlock.

3. Take out the Wraith from Northern Desert and the Goo Blob from Northern Desert, making Aequitas the boss in Northern Desert.

I personally support three. I like Creeplight as is and a Warlock doesn't fit in the Slime Pits, so it seems the most logical. Also, Aequitas fits with the theme. He's a magical boss in the "magical" direction, not to mention his high damage is devastating to physical fighters.

Please vote and explain your choices!

Voted 3.

Don't mind the Goo + SMM sillynes in the pits thb, and ND would be the place to put the Warlock boss tbh.

I don't mind 3 either, and I don't think the others would disagree too strongly. Now that a Sorcerer is required for progress in the north, it may make more sense to throw in a boss that doesn't sport mana burn.

If this makes sense after a chat, we may be able to do it.

This is the last "unguaranteed" trophy spawn, right? Or are there other sneaksome ones we've overlooked?

Still waiting on a way to skip the intro for a whole new playthorugh. Or at least some time. Probably after the next update. Last one yielded a whole bunch of info and observations on the whole progress thing, I'm actually looking forward to the next one.

And regarding all that, I got about 1 000 000 questions abut item distributions and tiers and categories and stuff, just to see if some kinks and hickups I kept noticing during the last playthrough but never articulated in a seperate thread could be sorted out. Been mentionig stuff here and there lately, I'm looking for info and insight more than having specific gripes.

Progress, interface and metagame balances are definitely taking the front seat now. We know that the in-dungeon stuff isn't perfect, but at some point we've gotta see the diminishing returns there, sink a little less time into playtesting and properly endorse the game's supporting systems.

It remains to be seen which individual tasks will be considered the highest priority. We've already got some tasks lined up for this week.

Yup, it's the only "unguaranteed" trophy left. Meatloaf is definitely the close second. It may be guaranteed, but Slime Pits are hard to beat and SMM is usually the first boss kill there.

Regarding what Avatar said abut the SMM, were there any "complete with X stuff" quest chains added to problem spots like the Labyrinth to help get the Minotaur Nose Ring? Someone was complaining about another one - the boss in question is a guaranteed spawn, spawns only there, but is the natural "first boss kill"?

The way I remember it, I had completed the Labyrinth about 3 times on the last playthrough and still managed to not get the nose ring untill the Taxidermist informed me that it was the only thing I was missing. And then it took some effort.

Nose Ring is a SUPER annoying trophy to get. Fortunately, my run was a Binlor into MA Warlord with Refreshment. My second boss was Tomithy, so I crushed it.

And even then, with all the double boss dungeons you Have to go through to collect every trophy, chances are pretty high that you'll come across him.
