Cast fail protection is in the game now: You have to mouse off an enemy if your attempt at casting a spell failed. That could be what you guys are feeling... I don't like it very much because it breaks the game's feedback rule.

I've noticed it happening even when my cast attempt hasn't failed. I'll try to nail down some more specifics and post a bug report.
