How is rounding done?

I'm trying to get through Bleat It and
found I have the following questions.
With IAMWALL the spell gives 50% bonus to next kill.
1 - Is it round up or round down? I think it's round down as petrifying a lvl 1 goat and killing another lvl 1 goat seems to give no benefit.
2 - Does it matter what level monster you petrify for IAMWALL?
Thanks

yes its rounded down and no, it does not really matter. You always get that 50% bonus.
But you lose the xp for the petrified monster, so petrifying a lvl 1 monster (or even better, a nonmagicimmune plant!) is the best choice

Everything is automatically rounded down in DD. Whthere damage, exp, or anything else.

thats not true. A monster with 21 dmg deals 11 dmg, if you have 50% resist

Really? I've always thought it was round down only... Thanks for the correction.

Everything is rounded in the manner most detrimental to the player. (Just be glad that bonus damage no longer gets rounded down twice!
)

Murphy's rounding; whatever result is worse for the player. Hasn't been a serious issue since the double-rounding deal with thieves was dealt with.
