Keep in mind I'm third place with only a single attempt on the dungeon. That was intended to be a placeholder score until I found some time to sit down and make some more aggressive attempts.

I have little doubt that someone can beat my score with a fully pimped-out Crusader. There really isn't anything I can do about it, either, since I already hit the limit of my strategy - the only missing medals are Faithless and Hoarder, and my entire strategy boils down to "worship GG and convert everything."

(Is a 9 medal run even possible with a Rogue? The only plausible way would be to go sans Purist, but even if you can replicate a GG-worshiping Orc with Trisword and Alchemist Scroll abuse, you won't have any means of healing other than regen, and Evolvia is very hard to regen-fight.)

Everything but Purist and Parched should be possible, I think, with mana potions as early fuel for Alchemist Scroll/Trisword and health potions for Evolvia. You'd need to scum for the right shop, though, and the wrong secondary boss would be fatal. Still only 8 medals, but at 23 points it would put you in the (temporary) lead.

Hmm... I guess that shows the bonuses may be too powerful. Or maybe I'm just not used to the low scores because it's a harder dungeon.

Bump: due to commitments over the next few days, and the fact that I'm preoccupied at lunch hour at work today and tomorrow, it is unlikely I will be able to make any more serious attempts. I would be thrilled if someone could knock me off the top 3 (I'm currently in 3rd place with my 21 point Halfling Crusader), so keep submitting scores guys!

Warmonger (5) + Miser (3) + Purist (4) + Cheeky (1) + Ding! (2) + Specialist (1) + Unstoppable (3) + Priest handicap (4) = 23 points

Pretty straightforward strategy: start with Taurog, quaff lots of potions, convert to Dracul, drink lots of blood. A lot more difficult than my Rogue run, though, and required a fair amount of luck - just getting the right deity combo was far from sufficient for it to work. Although I did somehow manage to pull it off with one of the most unfavorable bosses, almost no undead fodder, and a fairly useless subdungeon (Titan Guitar, although it did serve a very useful purpose here in that the cowardly trait allowed me to access Taurog's altar while fighting Aequitas).

I just now noticed that the order in which medals are displayed varies. Any clue what that's based on?

Well, only minutes to go before the contest closes, so I gave it one more run.

In hindsight, I probably could have gotten parched and warmonger by dumping faithless (had Dracul on the field), but there's no time for another run.

Hoarder (4)
Miser (3)
Faithless (4)
Cheeky (1)
Specialist (1)
Unstoppable (3)
Ding! Max (2)
Crusader (4)

= 22 points

Unless there's a last-minute submission, q3 takes 1st place (Halfling Priest), Darvin 2nd place (Halfling Crusader), and gjaustin 3rd (Halfling Priest)

Best Rogue submission: q3 (22 points)
Best Priest submission: q3 (23 points)
Best Crusader submission: Darvin (22 points)

Looks like the handicaps were almost spot on.

Maybe Halflings should get a -1 handicap. :D
