Vicious PQI wins.

Well, I seem to be playing vicious PQI these days, becaue it's challenging, weird and I'm close to full completion on all sub-vicious. Any win here's pretty crazy and I keep coming up with strats that seem unlikely and discovering interactions I wasn't aware of. So I'll just post them in this thread and everyone else is wellcome to join in and discuss. I don't want to corrode other threads and I'd really like to share some.

So, last big thing I noticed was that Pissorf doesn't break momentum for crusaders. Very, very nice to know.

And just now I beat Dragon Isles Miser with a Halfling Bloodmage. With a prepped TT. And 4 hits of Tikki's Edge. And no magnet fireball. Yes.

So what happened is I prepped Fabulous Trasure + Transmutation and dumped all the gold I had no use for into TT and scored 2 hits of learning. Then I slowed a bunch of stuff while I explored, and I couldn't find the fireball so I used pissorf. Then I found the 9 lvl1 monsters subdungeon and almost had a stroke. The other altars were a useless GG, and a pactmaker. I stuck with TT and used Wheytwut to bring the boss into the middle of the map, and proceded to munch slowed popcorn and pissorff him into walls (after whoopaz) from levels 3 to 7, gaining TT piety for munching popcorn and picking up gold for tirbute untill I ended up with 4 levles of Tikki's edge. Found fireball a about 3 hits away from killing him, just about all the bloodpools and plenty of exploration left.

Then I picked consensus and scholars pact and descended, killed one dragonguard, leveled, killed the other, killed 2 more and leveled, Slayer Wanded one more guy and wheytwutted the last one. Then I proceded to pound on the matron with all I had (mostly attacks and fireballs since I converted Pissorf for wheytwut at some point). Ended up angering TT on the penultimate and the final blow for no long term harm done.

I'm impressed. I also had the smashing luck of finding wonnafyt and the monster zoo bonus subdungeon, ofc, but still, this is the first time I took 4 levels of Tikki's Edge as a serious option. I only took one set of potions, and dodging aart fron the edge, too.

Ok, a nice new one - parched goblin monk in Demonic Library. I went binlor - taurog - binlor and prepped burn salve, fortitude and the subdungeon as my uncommon preps. Dragonshield as item, binlor as god. Threw pretty much everything at the boss, even though I probably cold've and should've played better. Tricky dungeon in that there's quite a bit of monk hate in there.

Also, I'm back in the "prep slayer wand everywhere" mode. Being able to kill a fat lvl8-9 while expending no other resources is pretty good.

And interesting one, and an interesting factiod.

Ding! Max Halfling Assassin in Vicious Steel - prepped TT and Fabulous Treasure, took 2 hits of learing, dodge, a lvl of poison, and swapped into Taurog for the shield to tackle the Indomitable. Then I managed to woopaz + subdungeon sanguine + Pre-Charged Fire Heart + a million healing potions spike kill blah blah. No bear mace or knockback whatsoever!

Point of interest 1 - apparently you can potionspike blah blah with a halfling.

Much more important - Taurog's gear gives 60 CP each, and if you convert any of the pieces you "only" get a -10% Attack bonus reduction from Taurog. This is really good to know, and if it gave you back a mana point could make Taurog very much more interesting.

PARCHED DWARVEN PALADIN in Dragon Isles:

Did it without fireball and thoroughly cursed up. I even conerted the dragonshield I started out with. It was a classic GG Dwarf healthmonster, even found a fire heart. The curius thing was that I actually killed all the dragonguards.

HOARDER GOBLIN THIEF - Loss - in Dragon Isles:

Fell a few hits short of killing the matron. I caved in and converted a bunch of stuff including taurog gear and won. I'm having fun with taurog gear :)

Nice job, there are some really cool strats here. I'm especially interested in the potential for Learning. Making level 1s give 5 exp is crazily great.

I don't even get Vicious PQI's. I'm starting to regret 103%ing them. There is definitely a lot of possibility for a fighter with +5 exp. Should be interesting.

+6 if you popcornbowl, and fighters have a slightly higher chance of spawning a wonnafyt I think :)

PARCHED ORC PALADIN in Naga City:

Didn't need whoopaz or Pactmaker. Or yendor.

Went with GG, RBS and the Dragonshield. No fireball or pissorff either. Did find a fire heart, which is obviously amazing with HALPMEH. I'm just noting how incredibly easy it was, compared to some vicious PQI runs which I couldn't do in any ammount of tries. If anyone want's to really stomp NC, GG Orc Paladin with Dragonshield's your answer. Also, I'm doing all of this with nothing in my veto slots.

The Orc Paladin was a really amazing strategy Lujo, I just took down NC without fireball, RBS, pisorf and without the fire heart. It really lies on the dragonshield pretty much. I was having some trouble with Tommy because he just placed like 6 curse stacks on me and all the monsters that spawned were gorgons ready to kill me.
