wonafyt monster position

Have other players realised that wonafyt does not position monsters fully at random ?

It first tries to position the monster to the vertical or horizontal of the player, and then tries diagonal directions. That's usefull to know when harversting large quantity of pop corn.

As a side note, wiki article is a bit too tough with that glyph. It should not start telling that the glyph is crap...

I noticed it and think many others also noticed it. Think somewhere it was mentioned to teleport the monsters in a 'chess board'-fashion. Than you can move freely and have all the monsters.
Another thing to remember is, that the glyph first teleports same level monsters and after this lower level monsters. If everything is slowed it teleports a slowed (same level, i think) monster. So you can attack a same level monster and slow it for the final blow (if all other same level monsters are slowed).

I don't think the article is too harsh. WONAFYT is tricky in the beginning. This glyph and WEYTWUT i converted on the spot as i started with DD. Took sometime till i realised the both glyph are great. And the article explains it well how to use WONAFYT (apart from the monster poistions after the teleport).

Indeed, that's a usefull trick.
I noticed however that it will often prefer to teleport lower level monster than a same level one with magic resist.

Well, what is written in the article is true. But i would have felt more confortable if it started describing what the glyph does and what it is good or, before telling how tricky it is to use..

The Rex in the Labyrinth moves same mechanism, so you can predict his position avoiding to stuck.

Think Rex also tries always to get behind the player. So in same cases one can pinpoint his new position.

Does the wiki really say that? I love WONAFYT. It's a great glyph.

Yeah, WONAFYT prioritizes vertical and horizontal, and only then goes for diagonals or more distant locations.

Definitely a good de-clogging glyph. Especially good with Asssassins since anything can become popcorn in time, whereas other characters need to eventually consider whether they can eventually 1-hit the target.

Check it : http://www.qcfdesign.com/wiki/DesktopDu ... le=WONAFYT
First line :
"The monster summoning glyph is one of the trickiest glyphs in the game to use effectively. If you try to utilize it in a naive fashion, it's largely useless. "

That's somewhat true. But also very effective to discourage new player using it... In suspect that writing to be inspired from the alpha version wonafyt.

I was the one who wrote that. The key point to be made is that you very rarely are going to fight the monsters summoned by WONAFYT, you're going to corral them for later consumption. It also bears noting that WONAFYT has since been tweaked so that it predominantly spawns near the level entrance, making it much more likely to find it as a 1st level character (when it's most useful).

I like the approach of the description. It first explains the problems of the obvious way of using it and then explains the better usage.
