What is loot - mechanic for gold at the end of the run?

So i know that the amount of gold, which one gets after a dungeon run consists of four parts:
1) Trophy
2) Cash on hand
3) Loot (some items, but which)
4) Special (new class / badge and quests)


So for the mechanic:
1) Is clear, there is only the trophy
4) Is also clear (ok, the actual amount for new lass / badge i don't remember (~20 or 50?) , but it doesn't interest me much
2) Cash on hand at the end of the run; minus the amount of gold one carried into the dungeon (so if i start with 20 gold, but only carry 10 gold out, this would net 0 gold)
And now the part which interests me:
3) Loot / items: Are this only the items in the inventory or also stuff in shops? And how much money one gets for these items 1:1 or does one sells them for less? For the items one brings into the dungeon, i assume there is no loot-gold (similar to the 'cash on hand')

1) Trophy - stated by taxidermist as trophy sold for x gold
2) Cash on hand - added on top of "loot".
3) Loot - Trophy + all inventory items (including preps) with cash value halved, totaled and rounded down (at least thats the closest i've been able to work out).
4) Special (new class / badge and quests) - new class = 50 gold, new badge = 20 gold each

The gold taken in and the prep costs are deducted from kingdom gold when you enter, so you'd have to do the math for net gain, although I can never get it to total up quite right :? .

I've always wanted clearer calculations for this. I can never remember how much I've prepped and at times I've been barely breaking even.

Nothing worse than doing a few runs and expecting a big haul of gold only to find you haven't gained anything.

You forgot the bonus for half and full class completion. I forget what they are, but they are considerable (500 and 1000 maybe?). Also 200 for using the vicious token.

It's 500 for full class completion and 200 for half (maybe 250 but I think I remember 200).

The brought in gold is deducted after the run, so you can always bring in your full compliment of gold.
