The Wiki Returns!

Hey everybody! Now that the game is officially released and (presumably) entirely finished, it is time to get our wiki back in shape. Right now, 90% of the info is outdated as are a lot of the pictures. Before we start adding all of this info, we need to lay down some basic rules for formatting each type of page. Here's what I suggest (the order is suggested too):

Building Pages: Overview, Summary of levels (includes upgrade cost and what you get)/what it does (for non-leveling buildings), and any extra info (like class challenges on class buildings).

Dungeons: Map, Overview (monsters, bosses*, special rules), Strategies and Tips, and Quests

*Bosses should have boss boxes with their pictures (see northern desert)

Races: Actually, these already look good. It's worth double checking their info, but the format/images are good.

Classes: Overview, Class Info Box*, Strategies

*See the Fighter page

Class Challenges: This should be one page per class with one section per challenge. Each challenge section should include a description, list of monsters, boss info (boxes like the dungeons), and recommended races/strategy tips

Glyphs: These look good. It's worth checking the info, but overall these look almost finished.

Gods: These also look good. We need to check over/add info, but the images and summaries look done.

Items: This needs lots of work. We don't need a page per item, but our item section needs to be spruced up. First, we need to add a bunch. For each item have an image*, description of effects, cost, and conversion points

*The Image should just be what it looks like, not the description too.

Monsters: This also needs lots of work. First of all, our monster page (the general one) needs to be updated with all of the monsters. Then we need to start making individual monster pages. Each page should have a monster box*, a description, and a list of places it can be found**.

*See the serpent page
**For monsters that can appear as a random (the "basic" monsters), this should be stated, but do not include every dungeon they can appear as a random in.

Bosses: This needs both a general page and a lot of individual pages. The general page should be styled similar to the other generals (a brief talk about what bosses are, and then a table with their picture, name, stats, and location). Then each individual page needs a boss box (just like the ones in northern desert), an overview, a list of locations, and general strategy tips to defeat them.

Subdungeons: Add them as you find them to the subdungeon page. As for their individual pages, a full picture, full description of what they do/provide, and any little tips/details about them worth including.

I think that just about covers it. If you have anything else to add, any formatting suggestions, comments, etc, please post. Also, please post when you have added something to the wiki.

I unpacked the game's resource files to get at the item images and got a good chunk of them up. Two items of note there; I haven't unlocked a bunch of the content and had to guess at a few items, and recolors aren't in the data.

That's fine. Whatever we can't pull directly out of the files we can just take pictures of from the actual game. Also, thanks for starting work on the wiki. Every little bit helps.

I don't think I'd be much help in heavily editing/formatting pages (I just had a quick look at the edit page for one of the entries and was instantly lost) but I'll happily check over for inconsistent/incorrect/outdated information. Would you prefer me to make changes directly into the pages or list the needed ones here? I'm currently looking over the Gods page and making a list.

You can just enter them directly into the page. Thanks for helping!

Talking as a mouthpiece for one Madness, old forum vet who forgot his account stuff. He asks the devs if they could look into email issues, and if they were able to release an assets pack for the wiki. We've extracted the content from the game's package files, but portraits don't come out right and there aren't, as previously stated, recolors.

Yeah, that orb of zot sprite never occurs in game, although three different recolors of it do…

Good to hear from Madness again. It looks like he's already done a bunch on the wiki.

Okay, I just updated and corrected the general Gods page. Haven't touched the individual Gods' pages yet, though anyone who wants to do so can probably use this changelist as a helping tool to find outdated/incorrect information.

Changelist - Gods Summary

Description Change: Modified desecration description from "gain 25 piety" to "gain 30 piety (dimishes by 10 for each subsequent desecration)"

Binlor
-Changed Stone Skin description from "gives temporary +100% to physical resistance" to "gives 3 layers of Stone Skin (temporary 60% physical resistance)"
-Changed Stone Heart description from "lowers all enemy resistance on current dungeon level" to "lowers all visible enemy resistances"

Earthmother
-Removed Piety gain "Use IMAWAL on the instant kill plant"
-Removed Piety Loss penalty for drinking blood pools (Just verified this with a bloodmage to be sure)
-Changed Greenblood boon cost from "5+5n" to "5+3n"
-Changed Stoneskin boon description from "+2 to health" to +4 to health

Glowing Guardian
-Changed "Convert a potion or other small-slot item" to "Convert a small item (excluding health/mana potions)"
-Changed "Convert any other item or glyph" to "Convert a large item, glyph or health/mana potion"
-Rearanged the three "Convert" piety gains so they appear clearer
-Changed "Activate BLUDTUPOWA glyph" to "Use BLUDTUPOWA glyph", removed bullet point about glyph not activating
-Changed "Activate Sanguine..." to "Drink a blood pool" for consistency with the Dracul section
-Changed Absolution cost from "2 Piety" to "2 + 2n" piety
-Added "applies Consecrated Strike buff (next attack deals Magical damage)" to Cleansing boon
-Removed "next attack deals Magical damage" from Protection boon

Jehora Jeheyu
-Changed Starting Piety description to "Random, based on player level"
-Added "and of reducing Max Health, Max Mana and Attack bonus by 33%" to Major Punishment description.
-Changed Boost Health description from "+25 max health" to "+20 max health"

Pactmaker
-Changed Spirit Pact description from "+10 bonus conversion" to "+15 bonus conversion"
-Added extra bullet point to Consensus: "Can be taken along with a pact if Consensus is taken first"

Taurog
-Changed "Convert Taurog's Equipment" punishment from "Instant punishment" to "-10% attack bonus"
-Removed "+5% bonus damage" from Unstopable Fury boon description

Tikki Tooki
-Added "Except Tikki's Edge" from Punishment description (all permanent Tikki Tooki boons except Tikki's Edge are removed)
-Changed preparation penalty from "All enemies below your level gain a layer of Death Protection" to "All damage taken incurs a Piety penalty"
-Added WONAFYT to the "Use WEYTWUT or WONAFYT glyph" piety bonus
-Changed Piety gain for dodging an attack from "+1-3(?) Piety" to "+3 Piety"
-Added "once per enemy" to the "Poison an enemy" Pieyt gain, removed the aside "(either using APHEELSIK or Poison Blade including the one begotten from Tikki Tooki)" as it seemed unnecessary for the Gods summary. Feel free to add it back if you disagree.
-Changed Piety Penalty for getting hit twice or more from "-2 Piety" to "-3 Piety"
-Removed "+10 Gold" from the Reflexes boon description
-Updated the Poison boon to 15 + 10n piety cost, "Gain 1 level of Poisonous strike"
-Rearanged the Boons in the order they appear on the God Panel in-game

I put up a quick strategy for the Monk Silver challenge, and I've been sprucing things up as I see them. However, the wiki still needs a ton of work.

This is the top 50 red link pages on the wiki, and it's where we should focus our efforts. Lujo, did you take notes on quest unlock conditions when you were playing through the game those last few times? It'd be very helpful to fill in specific details on buildings and quest triggers.

I am gonna start working on a dungeon by dungeon video walkthrough for the wiki pretty soon.
