I am somewhat confused by the unlock sequence:
Beat quest at Northern Desert -> unlocks Shifting Passage (with a quest to unlock a new dungeon - this I expected) AND Cursed Oasis (without any quest - Missing the Taxidermist quest, but this one probably only comes when I have all Taxidermist classes)).
So I am confused. Would have assumed that Shifting Passage would unlock the Oasis, which will unlock the Library (after GT). Or I am forgetting another dungeon in the north?
It's to long ago that I unlocked it all in the beta...

Shifting passages unlocks the library after the quest. Cursed oasis unlocks at the same time as shifting passages. It's the same in every direction except the south which takes a special subdungeon to unlock stuff beyond hex.

Ok, thanks for the info. Thought the vicious dungeons would only unlock after beating the main quest line.

Traditionally it was:
Northern Desert -> Rock Garden -> Shifting Passages -> Demonic Library
Rock Garden -> Cursed Oasis

The Oasis has always been an outlier. Every directional path has such an outlier: Magma Mines in the west, Slime Pit in the south, and Berserker Camp in the east.
