The Random Boss

Postby JayPlaysIndieGames on Sun Dec 01, 2013 11:32 pm

Something that adds a great deal of variety to almost any hard dungeon run is the random boss. That powerful unknown factor that you are going to have to deal with to claim victory. So I'm wondering: What random boss do you fear the most? Which one has caused you the most pain, destroying your seemingly assured victories?

Has the goo blob been showing up everytime you shoot for warmonger?
Has bleaty been making you wish cydstepp was an assured dungeon drop?

Who has been giving you the most trouble?

For me it is always Super Meat Man. My regen fighting is a big weakness, and this giant annoying blob of health can bring me to tears when he wants to.

Yeah, it's either the meatman or frank because both are resource hogs extraordinaire - sometimes worse than the actual boss. There's a sruprising ammount of ways to deal with bleaty, and you can ussually always burn down the goo blob, but those two are a pain in the nethers.

The goblin is rather annoying as well, and so is the Wraith.

I really hate Frank and SMM. I always seem to find SMM in the last few tiles, and Frank is just flat out difficult. I actually like the wraith, and the firstborn and goblin are a bit of a pain.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

Bonus points if you find both Frank AND Super Meat Man on double doom with only a quarter of exploration left. While screwing around with a TT paladin and wasting blackspace left and right. Doubledoom in general likes to throw wacky combinations at me.

Goo blob is the reason I tend to prep GG on warmonger runs; cleansing is my favorite boon of his, just because it makes 'zerkers and rogues unstoppable. Goblin has a unholy tendency to crop up whenever I'm playing rogues, and is otherwise the most annoying besides SMM and Frank. The Tormented One and Medusa are breather bosses; their low hp makes them comfortable to fight either way.
