^ All fine advice as far as I know.
Here's the halfling, it was a mess. Way too many mistakes on my part, way too many. I'm rusty. But at least I finally got polytheist.
Now, the Binlor Halfling concept is actually pretty solid anywhere except in Naga City - because you can't possibly take all the junk downstairs, or use the gold from killing bossess at the shops upstairs. Also, I descended with Cydstepp as my only glyph (great with halflings!) but it also ment I couldn't get too much out of my mana or trigger the spirit sword easily so I was technically playing - a halfling. The good news is a halfling with 2 bear maces and +40% knockback from binlor and cydstepp can beat naga city. With a lot of god juggling - I finally got the polytheist achievement, yay. This run included converting a piece of Taurog's gear for a potion while in GG, and that was a good move compared to many others.
I don't know what to think except that if a dungeon lets you acess the shops and the boss at the same time, the halfling is pretty good but deffinitely not for rusty/inexperienced users. If I had the sense god gave a goat and took pissorff instead of the trisword downstairs it would've been great. I'm curious about the gnome, though, how does that play out?
EDIT: Important note, the fabulous treasure was overkill because it I ended up converting all the stuff I bought with it mostly for potions - this wouldn't've been the case in say DI, DL or even NL. The real clinch is that this thing level catapults like a boss but NC doesn't really reward that - you want to descend when you're near level 8 so most of the topside monsters were wasted in every possible sense. I had tromendous power at my disposal and nothing to do with it most of the time, and nothing special when I could've used it. A VT run of DL is not out of the question with a halfling transmuter though.
