I'm actually kinda proud of this one, sorta:

I'll write it up in the playthrough thread, when I put up the latest batch later today. I was watching some high-end Chinese Dota 2 tourney going on for a few hours and while it was on I was also trying to see if anything wins me this PQI, I'd just play any attempt and see how far it goes. There was one which got to one boss away, can't exactly remember what it was, I was trying out all sorts of stuff, basically whatever the RNG gave me.

This one was just Mystera with Apheelsick and B2P backup, but what won this attempt was really the Crystal Ball. I've had both the glyphs and other things on other attempts, this one was the first one that I found the ball. And it took quite a few attempts before I ran into it, I wasn't counting because I wasn't really expecting anything to win it (although I have heard stories of unexpected NC Purist wins with random stuff before).

Wasn't scumming for anything really, which turned out to be a good thing, because I surely wouldn't have been scumming for this if I was.

Just to make sure this topic doesn't vanish, here's a JJ paladin in Ick:

In-Game Screen
Victory Screen

It was a completely casual game. The flamey thingy went over Ick and I was like, how about playing a non-Rat for a change, I wanted to play a JJ Paladin and I picked Dwarf just because I felt like it. Nothing spectacular on the prep side, I took Soul Orb (the non-cracked one :D ) and basic potions plus the mandatory bet-on-boss, Health Boosters and of course JJ. The character turned out nicely, JJ Paladin can actually take 5 shots of one of the boosters (could have prepped apothecary to allow a fifth shot of Boost Mana too). Fun little game, with bars even bigger than usual for JJ. I did manage to rake in a shameless amount of Piety, without doing any peek-a-boo, but i did score both BYSSEPS and GETINDARE quite early. Those too lazy to click, the highlight is the bars: 360 health and 25 mana.

Holy wow, I don't think I've ever seen 5 boost health hits XD Or that much health without Scholars Pact :) I guess JJ Paladins are just underplayed. Getindare + Bysseps in JJ on Ick? Now there's a setup :D It's like having Scholars Pact always on!

Up all night to get lucky, got 6 dragon soul procs when fighting the boss, used only two schadenfreude potions (with 23 max mana) as resources, killing the lord gobb at level 5, on vicious, with specialist and feeling parched
I am the king of the rats now! Bow before me, peasants.

After getting the badges and the tougher races out of the equation, going through the same map again and again to collect class completions can sometimes feel like a chore. I decided to spice things up for the next map by drawing something out of the badges. The basic shape with Tinker in the center (who else? ):

I was struggling to get any of the strategies from the wiki to work for me. They rely on getting gnomes to level 8 before starting the boss, but the initial leveling phase was too difficult as a purist, faithless gnome.

This game, I finished exploring the map early in level 4, and thought the game was a wash. I decided to start attacking the boss, just so I could figure out his acid threshold. When I got him to 80% without hitting the threshold, I decided-- what the hell-- I'll go for it. I found a path of enemies, and started PISSORF'ing the boss into them, finishing them off as I went. I got some great results out of my Dragon Soul, and managed to get two levels like this. I finished with 3 health potions left, and I probably could've made it level 7 if I needed to.

So PQI gave me a Purist Gnome Priest on Namtar's Lair. I was missing the Priest, and since I anyway wanted to do this one with a Gnome Priest, I gave it a shot. I would have normally gone the Mystera or JJ angle, but with Purist it's more up to the RNG. So I had Pactmaker, GG and Taurog, and I went GG piety farm + Body Pact resists. I had most difficulty with the first two forms of Namtar, as those are not yet classified as undead, and actually had to blow all my potions on them (even the precious Health Potions). The forms down below were just manageable with the resources I brought, though it helped a lot to get a last shot of Cleansing before descending (just to pierce Form 3's resist for the first strike). Gnome Priest is a rock solid build, it does need a bit of mana boost (I found an early Elven Boots!), but it has a really balanced (above average) spike.

Welp, cleared all the Normal Dungeons with the new classes Purist. Starting to get a handle on them, even though I am the worst regen fighter in the world. Highlights include Binlor boons to hunt down Getanadafix, embarrassingly remembering that potion spiking is not a thing for Chemists, discovering just how phenomenal the chemist's starting piety potion (Communion Wine, I dunno? did people find a name for it in my absence?) is. Both of the new classes are a blast to play and I'm looking forwards to taking them to Vicious.

This is more of a soon-to-be bragging point, but I'm in the process of attempting to 100% HGT with every run (possibly excluding VT) being a Purist run. Currently, I only need Warmonger, VT, Monk, Crusader, Half Dragon, Berserker, Transmuter, Chemist, and Rat Monarch (once I unlock it.) Working on clearing all the classes before I go for purist Warmonger and VT, which has been a rather difficult task - Transmuter and Half Dragon especially have been giving me a lot of trouble. Any advice? I've resorted to mostly scumming for GETINDARE/BYSSEPS for transmuter, but keep losing momentum on the first two dungeons after bad altar/shop RNG, curses, and/or sloppy play.
