Ugh, I was so close to a purist VGT crusader win today but got screwed by awful shop luck. Deities were perfect - GG and PM right at the start - and Getindare was incredibly useful in saving resources. I had a bad roll with getting First Strike and Retaliate:Fireball late in the run, and quite a bit of Binlor's level was locked behind water, but I managed to clear out everything without using bloodpools. Got H down to 1500 health before I had nothing left, but had I found martyr wraps or platemail I would have won. The best items I could find in the shops were the Agnostic Collar and piercing wand for some resist stripping, and which saw very little use. However, I'm finally convinced that purist Crusader is doable given how close this was to a win, and I hope to tackle it soon. EDIT 2: Finally did it, check the VGT Olympics thread.

EDIT: What I did win, however, was VT VGT with mandatory vampire. Found both platemail and tower shield in the shop and proceeded to go town. By tower 3 I was rocking 40% physical resist and 6 stacks of lifesteal and healed from every tower monster that wasn't a warlock or undead. Killed Horatio with plenty of blackspace left, bloodpools untouched, ritual scroll unused, and without having picked up yang's blade or penance. Could've grabbed feeling parched too had I not decided to blow all my mana resources with piercing wand. Vampire thus joins Paladin in the "classes who have finished every dungeon" squad in my kingdom.

Shortest Event Log Challenge! Only 10 spaces! (It's not the Hobbler's Hold, see that I earned some money)

Guess how did I do it before checking the answer: https://youtu.be/g60j2mynzWY

Things you should know for the event log:
Spoiler: show
1. If you take multiple same items during a run, only the first one will appear.

2. Starting glyph will NOT appear, except for the wizard.

3. At least 5 levelups and 1 bosskill will unavoidably appear.

I beat the Watcher. Holy fuck.

Purists may notice my inordinarily high amount of gold. That's because I'm on Extreme Edition and prepped Scrooge to farm gold off the bosses in map one. I also bought Cursed Cutlass, an Ex Edition exclusive, but I could have won without it as it would have only taken one additional strike.

I don't care if I had an advantage over vanilla players, I still feel damn good.

My build on L1 double bosskill without CYDSTEPP:

It's my first build of L1 double bosskill, I'm amused with it! I hope this is an original build.

Just came back to the game after a long break, and I finally managed to rainbow all the dungeons.

Image

I waited to unlock Goatperson until I finished all the other classes and badges. I was able to beat most dungeons in 1-2 tries. Most of my trouble came from Shifting Passages (which required me to change my strategy to start prepping Yendor instead of Dragon Shield) and Vicious Gaan-Telet. I got VGT in about 5-6 attempts. Most of my trouble came from bad god luck or getting poisoned/mana burned too many times.

On my winning attempt, I got great luck with an early Binlor+Pactmaker, Ritual Scroll, and resists boosts from Patches. I had mid-50s in both resists going into the second tower level. However, the map didn't have a Soul Orb, and I slowly ran out of ways to remove my manaburn. It came down to the very last enemy manaburning me on his last hit. Thankfully, I had enough conversions left to remove all of Horatio's resists with BYSSEPS and got a lucky 50% Last Chance. I managed to kill Horatio with what was probably my last hit. I had a small amount of blackspace that may have given me one more.

Rat VGT was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I got it on my second try (scumming for early Pactmaker). Really happy I got it fast, because I ended up spending 8k gold trying to get Pactmaker to show up.

CONGRATULATIONS A LOT!!

So now you become the 5th? 6th? person to rainbow every dungeon. You really are an expert of this game!

By the way, how much time did you took to manage it? In my case, I rainbowed every dungeon at 699 hours of playtime. This isn't very meaningful 'cause you can't rainbow them without trying it, but I'm a little bit curious.
